Micky's Adventures

Micky's Adventure is a French episodic flash game, published between 1998 and 2001.

In the world of Micky's Adventures, websites are world populated by creatures, with their own visual identities and inner rules. Micky is a lazy "internôte" from Al Homepage, a website on the verge of destruction. He is tasked by his creator Al to retrieve keys from other websites in order to reboot and save his world. Micky will travel to many different location, meet various characters and solve puzzles in the vein of 90's games like Myst or Out of this world.

Between 1998 and 2001, each month a new episode was added, and players could send ideas for the next one. According to the creator, very few people participated. Despite that, the game was completed with a total of 43 chapters.

The episodic nature of the game means a lot of changes were made to the design of the game as chapters went by. Graphics passed from flat 2D screens to more stylized graphics, and a lot of animation were added over time. It fits the theme of evolving technologies and websites.
