Midnight Pool 3 is a mobile pool game similar to previous games in the series. The game is played from a top down perspective and features a quick play mode, a career mode and a versus mode for two players. The number of game types have increased to seven: 8-ball US, 8-ball UK, 9-ball, 3-ball, knockout, one-pocket and timed. The career mode works like in previous games with the player challenging a number of AI opponents to win money. Money can be used to buy new equipment such as cue sticks, gloves and chalk from a shop. What's new in this version is an experience based level up system.
The controls work the same as in the original game with aiming being done by rotating the cue around the ball while lines indicate directions. When taking a shot a meter appears which is used to set the power. There are also advanced controls which are used to add spin to the ball and do jump shots. This version also features power ups which can be bought in the store. Power ups can be used to rearrange balls, add extra power to shots, confuse opponents, pick up the ball and make perfect shots.
