MiniSquadron deserves all the respect and adoration in the world. It’s one of those games that hits the spot in the ways that matter. Go ahead and skip that delicious McLatte, and buy this exceptional shooting game instead.

MiniSquadron is an elegant, intuitive 2D shooter that should delight genre fans and total newbies alike. The difficulty is well balanced, the presentation is great, and blowing stuff up is just daggone fun. What more could you ask for? Do yourself a favor and watch the YouTube video, because still images don’t do this frantic game justice.

Overall, Mini Squadron is a fantastic shooter. Combining a retro feel, with something that feels fresh and new. Add in great pick-up-and-play gameplay and a hectic multiplayer experience (local only), and I can’t recommend it enough for shooter fans.

The game can be easily enjoyed within seconds right after purchase. You will be surprised at the amount of time you’ll be wasting playing this game. Though the lockups and slowdowns are downers, the amount of enjoyment you can have in MiniSquadron is immeasurable. Admittedly, the gameplay is not the deepest, and the plane customization is actually absent (you are simply given a lot of choices; I just can’t ignore the fun factor, right?). MiniSquadron shows a lot of weaknesses, but it readily erases them with an amazing gaming experience. Buy this. Immediately.

Every bit as polished as the original, MiniSquadron is another sure sign of Android hitting its stride, and easily one of the best titles available right now.
iPhoneTouch Arcade (Nov 19, 2009)
All in all however, MiniSquadron can be thoroughly recommended both to those who wish to take a trip down memory lane and to those who are new to the 2D dog-fighting genre. It is a well-rounded package that can be breezed through in a couple of hours, but offers you replayability as you unlock and learn to master the many different planes composing your sizable squadron. The game is also seeing overwhelmingly positive impressions in from our discussion forums.

Mini Squadron offers the pick-up-and-playability of the old skool shooter, combined with great graphics and surprising deep gameplay

A slick arcade blaster with surprising depth and plenty of replayability, MiniSquadron deserves a place on any Android gamer’s phone
iPhoneMacworld (Jan 01, 2010)
Mini Squadron is a really fun game that’s perfect for playing in short burst though you'll likely have a tough time putting it down after only a few minutes playing. There's even a Wi-Fi multiplayer mode so you can play with you friends.
