MSXComputer Gamer (Aug, 1986)
The graphics of the original board are too detailed to produce on screen so the screen is split in two. The upper section shows the board with the pieces in their relative positions, while the lower half shows a blow up for the current player's position with the following two squares to the left. A throw of the dice is accompanied by an excellent piece of dice-rolling animation making the game a sight for sore eyes. Excellent value.

Does following the traumas of Uncle Clive in the market place put too much strain on the old ticker? Why not relax and put your greenbacks into where the real bunce is - simple low down, land and property. Leisure Genius's adaption of Waddington's classic board game Monopoly could be just the start you need - gazump your girlfriend, bankrupt your brother and mortgage your mother in this fun family game!
AmigaAmiga Power (Jul, 1991)
A sound conversion, but the board game's a whole lot more accessible (and cheaper).
Daher mein Tip: Get Monopoly – the Game, forget Computer-Monopoly.

Much of my misspent youth was devoted to playing Monopoly. It was never long before the board was awash with beer and property cards littered the floor. When the banker got bottled we all went to bed. Leisure Genius, in its official version, has done its best to depict board, dice and deed cards. Up to six people can play, or the computer can control as many players as you wish.
AmigaAmiga Power (Aug, 1991)
Competently done, but arguably quite pointless.
AmigaAmiga Joker (May, 1991)

Each of these products is a faithful translation of its boardgame ancestor. Virgin MasterTronic has improved with each new release. However, since these products generally sell for under $20.00 in their boardgame incarnations, the question remains, "Does having the computer version with its potential in-house opponents provide sufficient justification for doubling the cost? That is, of course, a personal decision the consumer will have to make on his own. In this reviewer's opinion, Scrabble is the weakest product (given cumbersome play and graphics), while Risk and Clue: Master Detective are the strongest. Monopoly has been released in numerous shareware and public domain versions which thereby weaken its standing. Assuming one has sufficient human opponents, the boardgame versions still offer better play value. However, the computer versions can supply a modicum of opposition (and you don't have to share your potato chips!).
