My Stop Smoking Coach is an educational game based on Allen Carr's book the Easy Way to Stop Smoking. The aim of the EasyWay method is to enable any smoker to quit immediately and permanently. It focuses on why the person smokes and then removes the fear of stopping. The game goes through all the steps of the methods and for each step there is a mini-game that illustrates the point presented. For each mini-game the player gets a score, however there is no targets that has to be reached. This means it's not possible to fail with the games and the player can always move on with the method. In some of the games it's actually not possible to do well because they aim to illustrate the futility of smoking.
The player starts out with selecting a coach from six experts. The coach will then act as the player's guide and lecturer throughout the game. Before the lecture begins the player gets to introduce himself to the coach by asking a few questions (for example age, interests and how long he has smoked). This information will lead to personalized text later on in the game. Once this is done the coach leads the player through the 17 steps of the method. The method consists of three parts; the nicotine trap, illusion removal and the last cigarette. For each step the player gets to play a game.
