1080° Snowboarding

aka: Vertical Edge Snowboarding
Moby ID: 8384

Nintendo 64 version

THE best snowboarding game, ever

The Good
The game feels right. It actually feels like you are pelting down the slopes and crashing into the walls. Though they may look dated now, at the time the graphics were astounding. The glare of the sun, the reflection on the ice, all added to the feeling of realism. A nice collection of game modes in which to humiliate your friends was also welcome, who can forget the big air contest, where you hurl yourself off of a ramp and try to pull off tricks before crashing headfirst into the snow at the bottom. The unlockables in the game also had a nice progression to them, including hidden characters, tracks and boards.

The Bad
The controls could be quite 'Clunky' in that it would be hard to do what you wanted to, when you wanted to. This also made tricks hard to pull off, and the titular trick, the 1080, was really, really hard to pull off.

Another bad point of this game was that at some point it had to end, shame really.

The Bottom Line
The best snowboarding game of all time. Spend some time with it, learn the in's and out's, and you will find an immersive experience, brimming with fun
