Neo GeoGameFan Magazine (Apr, 1993)
Once again, a Neo Geo classic that today's games by SNK can't match. Nam ties in an intense story along with crisp, detailed graphics, explosive sound effects and perfect challenge to bring you an awesome game. if you don't have it, find it.
Neo GeoThe Video Game Critic (Sep 06, 2002)
This early Neo Geo title delivers some serious two player shooting satisfaction. You view the action from behind your soldier, blasting enemy troops, tanks, helicopters, boats, and anything else that comes into view. You can even level entire buildings and topple huge bosses. The A button is used to fire your machine gun, B throws grenades, and C is used to run sideways. Running is not only useful for evading incoming fire, but also to grab power ups that rain down around you. A variety of backdrops and enemies keep the action fresh, and there's even an occasional hostage to save. NAM offers a limited number of continues, so you won't finish it in one sitting. If I have one complaint, it's that the action tends to get very difficult very fast. The graphics aren't the best you'll see on the Neo Geo, but the tremendous destruction is quite satisfying. A memory card can be used to save your place. Fun to play and fairly inexpensive, NAM 1975 is highly recommended.
Neo GeoMega Fun (Mar, 1994)
Neo Geo At Its Best!
Neo GeoVideo Games (Feb, 1992)
WiiNintendo Life (Apr 12, 2013)
NAM-1975 might not set new standards for originality, but what it does do is offer up a fun shooting experience that should scratch the itch of any old school arcade fan. The level designs and enemy patterns offer up a fun and challenging shooting extravaganza, but it's the balance and variety that will keep you coming back for more. Sure, it's not anything ground-breaking and the action does become slightly repetitive over time, but NAM-1975 nevertheless provides an enjoyable experience which will resonate most keenly with players old enough to remember the coin-op epics of yesteryear.
As the Geo's very first title, this one holds it's place in history and most people probably own it for this fact alone. The outstanding gameplay makes it a worthwhile purchase, but actually beating this one will require a level of dedication unlike any other. Of course, if YOU paid $300 for a single game, would you really want to beat it in one sitting?
Neo Geo1UP! (Apr 29, 2005)
Neo GeoDefunct Games (May 28, 2005)
NAM 75 is fun for exactly the right reasons, but with only an hour of game play and repetitive levels it's hard to recommend this tour of duty. But if you're the type of person looking for an action-packed game the likes you never see any more, then NAM 75 is your ticket to a good time.
Neo GeoAll Game Guide (1998)
The stages are long, and usually you'll only be able to come up with one special weapon. That means most of the time you'll be stuck with your standard gun. A few pick-ups are really interesting, like the one that doubles your shots and the blonde bimbo you can rescue who runs alongside you shooting at things. In short, the game offers some intense and fun shooting action. If, that is, you can overlook the many flaws.
