Best in the Series!

The Good
The first NBA Live game is incredible. The graphics look good for the SNES. It's fast paced and the players move realistically. There are also League Leaders stats for major categories such as assists and points per game. The music in this game rocks. Unlike the later NBA Live games for the SNES where the computer controlled team can easily get blown out by a human controlled team, the CPU in this game is very smart. It will pass to the open man! It's also very good on defense. They will strip the ball when they have the opportunity. In the later NBA Live games it seems like there are no differences between the three difficulty settings. The CPU can be beat easily by 20+ points on all-star level just as they can be beat easily on rookie level. However, it does matter in NBA Live '95. In this game winning by double digits is very hard on all-star level. In this game, no lead is safe. The CPU can often make a come back. It's very easy to get blown out by the CPU if one's not taking good shots! The competitiveness of the CPU in this game helps make it more enjoyable and realistic. I have played all the other NBA Live games on the SNES, and NBA Live '95 has, by far, the most intelligent CPU. In NBA Live '96 I beat the San Antonio Spurs 119-60 on 5-minute quarters with the Los Angeles Lakers playing in all-star level. Similarly, I beat the Orlando Magic in NBA Live '97 by a score of 114-53. I haven't been able to do that in NBA Live '95. I have been playing NBA Live '95 since 1998 and the the best game I had so far was a 102-81 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on starter level with the Lakers on 5-minute quarters. I haven't been able to win by 20 points on all-star level in this game!

The Bad
There's nothing bad about this game except for some minor problems. Every game has problems, especially if it's the first one made in the series. For once, the CPU never calls timeouts. There is no Auto Sub feature in this game. In addition, this game has no spin move and the fans never chant DEFENSE! in close games.

The Bottom Line
NBA Live '95 is the one that started it all. It is the first game ever made by EA Sports in the long standing NBA Live series. This excellent game set the foundation for the later NBA Live games and it's been growing ever since. NBA Live '95 is an awesome game that is fun and exciting to play. In my opinion, it is the best basketball game ever made considering the fact that it's almost a perfect game for being the first in the series. EA did a superb job in making their first NBA Live game. NBA Live '95 definitely belongs in the EA Sports Hall-of-Fame.
