You can't go wrong with both Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. on one convenient cartridge. Both of these games are superb adaptations of the arcade originals, and both offer two skill levels. There's nothing here you won't find on the individual carts however.
NES Archives (Nov 25, 2007)
This is one game that should definitely be in your NES collection. These were the first two successes Nintendo ever had and still hold up well all these years later.
Retro Game Reviews (Nov 26, 2015)
Donkey Kong Classics pulls together two of the greatest games on the NES and it's an absolute must-own for anyone who loves early Arcade titles. Both are addictive and extremely well designed, and the solid gameplay will have you returning time and time again to try and beat your high score.
Why did I enjoy the time that I spent playing Donkey Kong Classics? Simple, you bring the arcade classics home. Not only that, but you can play it in multiplayer modes. If you still have your NES, then I highly recommend that you find this game on EBay, at a local pawn shop, or at a local video game retailer, and buy it.

If I’m not mistaken, Nintendo created the first game series compilation with Donkey Kong Classics. Of course, it’s not the first NES compilation (Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt is the first, I believe), but it’s the first to compile two games of the same series. It was an awesome deal for its day, and it’s the only way to go if you want some old-school Donkey Kong action for your NES. Buying both Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr cartridges and switching between them is just plain nutty, unless that’s how you get your jollies.

Nintendojo (1996)
These games have not held up very well over time, however, they are still fun little diversions. If you are looking to find out more about the history of video games this is an excellent place to start. Donkey Kong Classics presents two perfect ports of early Nintendo games in an exact replica and gives players a glimpse at the basic structure of the upcoming GCN/AGB game.
