GamePro (US) (Jan, 1992)
Seasoned Nintendonians will be able to run, jump, and spin through this cart's six worlds in a couple of days, but it's just right for its target audience - younger kids. M.C. Kids will tantalize you with its puzzles and secrets, while making you hungry for some good ol' Mickey D's.
Player One (Oct, 1992)
Consolemania (Apr, 1993)
Contenti? Ho soddisfatto le vostre curiosità? NO?
Thus, I believe that the gaming public should not shun this game simply because it is directly connected to a major multinational corporation. Instead, it should be taken for what it is: a fun and challenging platformer. Sadly, it did not perform too well overall, which is a shame because many NES gamers of the time had missed out on a quality experience. So if you find M.C. Kids at a used video game store or middle-aged man's yard sale, do not hesitate to snatch it up. Just be forewarned that you may be approached by Grimace during the gameplay. Be forewarned...
Who would've thought it'd be so hard to get to a conversation with that walking gumdrop, Grimmace? How embarrassing - yet still fulfilling. Mick and Mack also grew up a bit to star in the Genesis title, Global Gladiators. For gamers looking for refreshing platform thrills on the NES, MC Kids is all that and an order of fries.

Good games on the NES don't come along very often so make the most of McDonaldland - if you've completed the Mario games, give this a go!
Don't think that this even is one of those kiddy games you'll complete in an hour. This game has a very high difficulty level, especially at the end, even to the point of being too high if the game was originally aimed at young kids. Anybody who likes Super Mario Brothers 2 should give this game a shot if they can find it.

It’s your typical 8-bit platformer, obviously inspired by Mario, but greased and salted with mild McDonald’s references and an exploratory flavor all its own. It’s much, much better than one would think. I was ready to stick a fork in M.C. Kids and call it good, but the levels are fun to play and there’s a surprising amount of challenge for a supposed kids game. If you like McDonalds food, you’ll enjoy M.C. Kids. If you don’t like McDonalds food, don’t worry: M.C. Kids doesn’t try to cram itself down your throat and pretend your stomach can digest it.
Power Unlimited (Oct, 1993)
There is a map for each world connecting the levels, and instead of progressing to the next area by beating a final stage, players must collect an appropriate number of puzzle pieces hidden throughout all of them. This is what really drags the game down, as the title could have been just fine as a speedy diversion without all the backtracking and collecting. The graphics are nice and colorful though, and overall the whole experience is passably enjoyable.
Retro Game Reviews (Jul 05, 2015)
M.C. Kids is an interesting game that offers something a little bit different to other NES platformers. If it had some variety and more boss battles it could have been a classic but as it stands it's more of a pleasant experience than anything else.
M.C. Kids is a fairly average side scrolling game that may bring back some Super Mario memories. Success with this game comes quicker if you forget your Mario moves as some of them are counter to surviving in McDonaldland. You'll find some areas are very easy while others are insanely difficult.
Nintendo Life (Oct 03, 2010)
Despite these shortcomings, the colourful graphics, imaginative Sid and Marty Kroft-esque level and enemy design, innovative game physics, and exceptionally jocular score make M.C. Kids worthy of at least one or two full playthroughs. At the very least, the conclusion of each level with a bodacious airborne high-five between Mick and Mack should trigger a hint of a Ronald McDonald smile in the most cynical gamer. Its aforementioned faults, however, make for a slightly above average but overall mediocre experience.
Play Time (Jan, 1993)
Alles in allem: Jump and Run-Fans sollten zugreifen!
Men förvänta dig ingenting nytt.
