Tilt (Jul, 1988)
VideoGame (May, 1991)
NES Times (Nov 04, 2005)
Even if you never played the C64 version, you’ll still find the NES Winter Games to be a very disappointing sports game that doesn't even deserve the bronze. Fans of Epyx games will want to stay far away from this one. Play the C64 and Atari versions instead and put this failure on ice.
This incredibly bare-bones game with only two decent events certainly doesn’t make for a worthwhile winter experience.
1UP! (Dec 30, 2010)

Who were these Winter Games made for? Gaming enthusiasts who have the patience and tenacious buttocks to wrestle with the game’s horrid controls? Actual athletes from the Winter Olympics? I bet it’s easier to qualify for the Olympics than to beat the computer’s high scores on this frosty dungheap. If you have to play any version, try out the original Commodore 64 game; I’ve heard good things. The NES port is dishonorably disqualified.
The Video Game Critic (Feb 25, 2009)
Winter Games unceremoniously ends by returning you to the main menu, without even bothering to mention who won. High scores are recorded on world record screens, but I don't know if that was ever battery backed-up. The best thing about Winter Games is that it's over so quickly. Wow, this is really a half-hearted translation of what should have been a quality game.
