I recommend this as a game for all ages, young and old. While the young players may have problems getting past some places, the older players will have the exact same problems. The persistance of youth may have the advantage, however. I found myself 'stuck' at the same points in the game every time I played it. It wasn't a matter of knowing what to do, it was a matter of being skilled enough to make the jump or time it right.

Wizards and Warriors was quite the generous game in 1987. Two complaints: enemies are numerous and belligerent, attacking you with every ounce of strength and hostility within their bones; and the level design feels sloppy and unrefined compared to Nintendo’s own non-linear adventure Metroid, released the year prior. Nevertheless, gathering treasure and saving ladies proves addicting enough to hold one’s attention throughout the adventure. You and Aquarius win this round, Kuros.
Wizards and Warriors is a typical platform game; plenty of leaping around is needed to reach some of the more inaccessible areas. Graphically the game isn't brilliant, it's colourful but the sprites lack detail. Sound is also a bit of a disappointment; a mediocre tune plays on the title screen but in-game sounds are limited to a few clunk, clank effects. Simple addiction but little in the long run.
Power Play (Mar, 1990)
Zero (Apr, 1990)
Each stage in Wizards And Warriors is significantly different to keep you searching and sword fighting, but levels get very tedious. It's all too easy to be knocked from your perch and fall to your doom. The graphics and sound are passable; nothing exciting. But if you've got the patience (or like an impossible challenge), you'll probably love the game.

Wizards & Warriors is in dire need of polish as it has some good features bogged down by weak execution. I still like it somewhat but don’t think I would recommend it in the end.
The music is fun medieval fare and the graphics are solid, but the jumping mechanics are tricky and require a good deal of patience to master.

Why must developers inflict these things upon us? Considering the constant damage I seemed to be taking, I'm amazed I made any progress in this game at all! It's rife with design flaws, but Wizards and Warriors is fun to play for score. There are tons of items to collect, and it's satisfying how they flash point totals as you snag them. The soundtrack has a nice Elizabethan flavor that's not unlike Ghosts and Goblins (Capcom, 1986). Wizards and Warriors is not what I had in mind, but it's moderately fun in small doses.

Wizards and Warriors refutes the claim that all video games are unrestrained target shoots. This engaging and wellprogrammed action quest offers a satisfying, wellrounded gaming experience.
