Hell’s Kitchen: The Videogame is an example of a game which is easy to pick up but harder to put down as you go back to earlier days to raise your rating to that all important 100%. It can easily be played in those spare breaks you have in the day, due to the simple gameplay which can be picked up and reacquainted with in seconds.

At least the game bit's quite good fun. The visuals are too small and too brown, but the gameplay's still classic; it's a bit like playing chess with pieces made of rat plops. It may be unoriginal but it's still addictive, and before long you too will be spending hours serving pixel-sized sandwiches to characters the size of ant babies. As my wife Jools says, it certainly passes the time while your husband is out telling poor people what carrots look like.

Though devoid of fun, I'd like to say that the gameplay was challenging in the sense that it does offer a sense of accomplishment; quickly analyzing the dishes and prioritizing the cooking order feels like some kind of nerdy challenge. However, the sheer, mind-boggling repetitiveness of the game nullifies that; the only thing Hell's Kitchen teaches you to do is tap on the screen quickly.
