Worth Playing (Jan 14, 2010)
If, however, you loved the PC editions of the franchise and wish you could take the game on the road, then you're in luck, as Bookworm DS is a truly superior edition of the game. The classic gameplay mechanics are still there but jazzed up with extra incentive for progress. Furthermore, the new action mode is a treat for those looking to play a quick session or who generally enjoy their games to be a little more upbeat. Once again, PopCap proves that it can create great games regardless of the console, and Bookworm DS is an excellent choice to add to your handheld gaming library.
IGN (Dec 01, 2009)
Bookworm is the pinnacle of word games and this DSiWare version is a solid port of the PC original. It's a one-trick pony but that one trick will keep you entertained for hours and the price is nice. PopCap is very slow porting its titles from PC to other platforms, but at least it does it right when it finally gets around to it.

The only problem with Bookworm is that it's shorn of various modes included with other versions - but that'll be because there's a boxed version on the way. Not for the first time, perhaps the fully featured iPhone and iPad version is the way to go.
Nintendo Life (Dec 02, 2009)
Anyone looking to flex their vocabulary will certainly find a good time in Bookworm, although missing fun features hurts the longevity somewhat - if you want a fleshed-out version then wait a week for the retail release. It may not be the be-all version but it's still good fun for a reasonable 500 Points and is recommended to those looking for a quick-hit word puzzler on DSiWare.
