A humble librarian learns of a terrible horror lying in wait on a remote island, and sets out to prevent it from awakening. He travels across the blasted, dead shores and an old castle, encountering monsters and bosses (based on Russian folklore) as he gets ever closer to the eldritch entity at the heart of it all.
Nocturne in Yellow is a first-person shooter game based on the Doom engine, created within a month for the 2015 Indie Game Making Contest. The protagonist's weapons are a spear, a bow, a rifle (found later in the game) and grenades. The bow functions as several weapons in one; the player can switch between different bow attacks by activating artifacts gained from defeated bosses. The rifle, as well as some of the artifacts, require ammunition to be used (bullets or mana).
Apart from "story mode", the game has an "arcade mode" where all dialogue scenes are skipped.
