Pac-Man is a new version of the classic maze game, different from the earlier mobile release. The core gameplay is unchanged, as the player steeds Pac-Man through mazes eating dots and avoiding ghosts. Bonus items provide additional points and power pellets can be eaten to eat and chase after the ghosts briefly. The movement direction can be controlled with swipes, based on three sensitivity settings, or using an external gamepad.
The game has the original arcade version with 256 levels. For Android the game is free and for iOS commercial, but both versions support in-app purchases for additional maze packs with different levels lay-outs. Some of these can be tried out for free. Entirely different is the Tournament mode where different types of mazes need to be completed, along with new bonus items. There are leaderboards to compare scores worldwide. Both the Mazes and the Tournament game modes use a new bonus system where eating multiple sequential ghosts and other targets are rewarded. In the Classic arcade mode the original scoring system is used.
The Classic and Mazes modes have three difficulty levels. Hard is like the arcade version, Normal is a little slower, and Easy is the easiest to play along with five lives instead of three. Next to the maze packs, the Android version has in-app purchases to remove the in-game ads and to buy tokens, a currency required to play levels in the Tournament mode. There are daily gifts and some other ways to earn a small amount of tokens. Tokens can also be used to continue playing when out of lives.
