Prison Escape group

I suggest adding this game to a group concerning the thematic "player imprisoned escaping from an enclosed space" (prison, sanatorium, work camp, etc).

tags: breakout, prison, escape, confined places, sanatorium, asylum, work camp, concentration, prisoner

I can express myself better with examples:

  1. Eden Blues
  2. The Great Escape
  3. Alcatraz Harry
  4. Countdown
  5. Dustin
  6. Castle Wolfenstein
  7. Escape from Colditz
  8. Another World
  9. P.O.W.: Prisoners of War
  10. World War II: Prisoner of War

What about a more general prison setting group?

I consider the triangular aspects A.[prisoner/captive/confined] in a B.[specific space/structure/building] and the verb C.[to escape/reach freedom/free prisoners, release from dictatorship] the main pillars of this group.

The distinction I consider fundamental is that the player even if frees prisoners or something hijacked, he was also a prisoner in the first place. He does not enter in a space with the mission to free hostages or similar, he is already inside that space being captive too.

Into the Eagle's Nest would be an example of a game which didn't belong to that group although has similar characteristics.

What do you suggest?

Maybe we can create both. One with the prison setting and another one for the escapes.

I presume so,

prison setting > escapes

Are there that much? The appropriate game group currently only contains 4 entries but there could be much more still missing of course.

Just take a look in the Play Store or iTunes and search for 'escape' or 'escape the room'. There are dozens, hundreds..

We heven't them documented, but they exist :)

I forgot to mention the background story element (also with some RPG, puzzle, adventure aspects, action), i.e., games in this group wouldn't be just puzzle games wrapped in the prison thematic.

These two games represent a dilemma, but somehow they could fit in the group:

Sanitarium: the player is imprisoned in the character's mind and has to escape - reach sanity and get out of the character's comma.

Die Hard: the character although has not being made hostage, he's trapped in a building and ultimately has to escape.
