Apple version

Accoding to designer Dan Bunten, the only "full" version of the game was made for the Atari. All other ports, including the better selling Commodore version, had to compromise some of the original game aspects to make the port.

Edutainment

This was the first game to be classified as "edu-tainment" by EA founder Trip Hawkins.

Random generator

Includes a "world generator" if you find the Americas to be too "boring". The world is generated with the proper algorithms, including mountains, hills, rivers and such, with different levels of civilizations from simple villages to a "heart" of civilization like the Incans and Mayans.
