Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is a complete and utter masterpiece, and not playing it should be considered a criminal offense in the gaming community.

Diehard fans of the original trilogy and newcomers alike, make no mistake—this is the definitive way to experience Phoenix Wright on new hardware, so jump right back in! These cases aren't going to (re)-solve themselves!

Nintendo SwitchVideo Chums (Apr 22, 2019)
It's been a long time since the original Phoenix Wright games released so this is the perfect excuse to play through them again and re-experience the thrill of each case. Also, the updated presentation is handled so well that it feels like a brand new collection of games.

Nintendo 3DSGaming Age (Jan 28, 2015)
It’s faithful, it’s intelligent, and most of all, a well-designed trilogy that respectfully stands the test of time from when it premiered. So what if we’re playing an adventure game in the shoes of a lawyer? These were the kind of ideas that complimented an avante garde console like the Nintendo DS when western players were being introduced to new ideas at the dawn of a new generation. Sure, Capcom is the king of releasing games in iterative fashion, but I couldn’t be happier that we’ve been given a chance to revisit the Phoenix Wright games, and broken down to $10 a title, it’s easy to recommend the trilogy to anyone with a 3DS and an itch for cool little games that have as much thought put into them as they ask of those who delve a little deeper.

Nintendo 3DSAnime News Network (Jan 09, 2015)
In fact, these three Ace Attorney games show little wear, proving just as witty and endearing as they were many years ago. They're reminders that a story, wherever you find it, doesn't have to be an unblemished jewel of skilled prose and unique plotting. It just has to catch us up in whatever it's doing. Hiccups and silliness aside, Phoenix Wright's cases are hard to set down once you're in deep. They hold up well, as all good stories should.

Nintendo SwitchThe AU Review (Apr 10, 2019)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is a must play for anyone who’s managed to miss these titles at any point in the last decade. They are charming, clever, creative and a great deal of fun. Please make sure you pick it up. I hope the rest of the series is given similarly reverent treatment.

The funniest courtroom game finally comes to PC, and it hasn't lost any of its wit, drama, or mind-bending puzzling in the process.

Nintendo 3DSNintendo Life (Dec 23, 2014)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is an excellent package, delivering hours and hours of entertaining and quirky interactive novel gameplay. It remains unique in the market, at least in its consistent levels of quality, and for those new to the franchise — or recent fans of Dual Destinies — it's a must buy. If you've played the originals to death, it's a trickier sell — the enhancements are minor enough that they're not worth buying as opposed to simply firing up that old DS cart. As an isolated product, however, this is a wonderful addition to the eShop; surreal, funny and huge value, it's definitely Guilty of being an excellent download.

For those who like the sound of a lawyer simulator, with plenty of plot to delve into, no objections should be made when deciding to purchase Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. It's a little harder to recommend to those that have already played these titles in any form, as the upgraded visuals are nice, but don't really add much to the games. With that being said though, this package offers a great amount of value and is definitely one that's not to miss.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is a win in my books. The story was fun, the characters amusing and it was challenging. This game doesn’t just give you the answers or make it easy to win and this will keep you coming back for more. Fans of anime styled games, murder mysteries and puzzles should definitely get a kick out of this one and three games in one makes it a bang for your buck.

Nintendo 3DSDigital Chumps (Dec 09, 2014)
As a collection of catalog titles, "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy" does everything an audience expects. Faithful, working ports on a fancy new system? Check. Visual upgrades? Check. A bonus option of playing that wasn't previously made available? Check. Fans of the series can be rest assured that Capcom has made every effort to make the first three "Ace Attorney" games available on the Nintendo 3DS without ruining the integrity of the original titles. And if you've never played the games before? There's no better way to do so than with this compilation. I encourage you to enter the courtroom with Phoenix Wright. Thanks to its seamless meshing of drama and humor, memorable characters and engrossing world, you might just never want to leave.

With the Phoenix Wright games being a visual novel adventure and relatively easy to learn, it is suitable for a wide range of audiences, even for those who have never held a game controller before. The stories only progress when the player comes to the right conclusions, challenging our intellect and powers of deduction. While the cases may not be long, it is exciting, packed with many twists and turns, and brings you mysteries that make it all worth solving. With the release of the trilogy on the PS4, it is a great way for the series to reach more people and a hopeful sign that there will be more coming.

Nintendo SwitchWay Too Many Games (Feb 28, 2019)
All complaints aside, I have to admit I fell in love with the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney trilogy. I never thought I’d have so much fun with visual novels with absolutely no action onscreen. These games are engaging, occasionally funny, and even a bit thought-provoking. They even made me want to read a bit about law after playing them back-to-back. Whether you decide to wait for the American eShop release on April 9th or grab them right away from the Japanese eShop (the games are in English), you’ll be in for the best lawyer-filled media experience ever since that one show starring William Shatner and James Spader.

Nintendo 3DSNintendoWorldReport (Dec 09, 2014)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is a hallmark series on Nintendo’s handheld, and if you missed it the first time around, this trilogy is a great way to dive in. Everything from the art, to the writing, to the storytelling is really a blast, and if we can’t have DS games sold via the eShop, this is the next best thing.

Nintendo 3DSZTGameDomain (2014)
For $30, the Ace Attorney trilogy contains the first three games of the series (Ace Attorney, Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations), which is a great bargain. A word of warning though, the Phoenix Wright games are very similar to the Professor Layton games; each game is built on the same concepts, with the only differences being minor tweaks. As a result the games are consistently good, but playing them back to back to back would likely lead to monotony. These games are better played with some time left between them, so they can each be enjoyed fully. That small bit of advice aside, it a great collection for anyone who missed the originals or series fans looking to replay the early games.

Nintendo 3DSNintendojo (Dec 09, 2014)
Ace Attorney Trilogy is a real love letter from Capcom to its fans. Packed with three huge games for a respectable $30, it’s also budget friendly, too. With beautifully redone graphics, the implementation of 3D, a tighter translation, and faster text scrolling, this is the ultimate version of three incredible titles. The Ace Attorney series has consistently been one of Capcom’s strongest, and this remake of the first three games is perfect for anyone who has yet to jump on the bandwagon. For those who have already played through these games, the additions and refinements should be more than enough to woo them back. Ace Attorney Trilogy represents what the video game industry can be when it thinks outside of the box.

WindowsGame Watcher (Apr 09, 2019)
Even though playing the Phoenix Wright Trilogy in 2019 reminds you how times have changed for the better, it is still a worthwhile compilation. Fifteen years after Phoenix Wright was brought to the West, its charm and strong narrative are still as resonant as it was in 2004. If you still have the original trilogy somewhere, you don’t need to rebuy this unless you’re a fanatic. But if you’re someone who never played a game in the series and want to know what the fuss is about? This is well worth your time. It’s silly and some design choices can force the game to a crawl, but it’s very easy to persevere to see what happens next.

Nintendo 3DSGaming Nexus (Dec 09, 2014)
I may not be the hugest fan of the series but the original three Phoenix Wright games still stand up remarkably well. With a fresh coat of 3D graphics and a budget price of $30, this trilogy is a great way to relive your favorite series, and a perfect entry point for people new to Phoenix Wright.

Nintendo 3DSHardcore Gamer Magazine (Dec 09, 2014)
The Ace Attorney games are some of the most charming, hilarious and engaging adventures on the market, and this new 3DS version makes them better than ever before. The port job isn’t entirely perfect, and the lack of a remastered soundtrack is a letdown, but two of the three games in this package are among the best point and clicks ever made, so a bit of uneven quality isn’t the end of the world. A 30 dollar eShop purchase will net you some 50-60 hours of gameplay, which is nothing to sneeze at, and the full Japanese versions of all three games are included as well — perfect for a gamer looking to practice the language and start importing.

Nintendo 3DSUSgamer (Dec 09, 2014)
I would have loved to see the original Ace Attorney games receive a more thorough makeover, but, realistically speaking, this Trilogy is the best we're going to get. That's okay, though, because Phoenix Wright's strength is in its writing, which has certainly held up over the past decade-or-so. If you've never tried your hand at Ace Attorney's brand of interactive crime fiction, this handy collection provides everything you need to become a die-hard fan of Capcom's spiky-haired lawyer.

Nintendo 3DSGod is a Geek (2014)
When it’s all said and done it’s hard to say no to what is a good package. It’s not as cheap as the iOS version, but to buy all 3 titles separately on the DS you’ll be looking at well over the asking price.

Nintendo 3DSWorth Playing (Dec 16, 2014)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is a fantastic collection for your gaming dollar. It contains three of the most enjoyable (and ridiculous) Phoenix Wright games for the Nintendo DS in one convenient package. The only downside to the game, beyond the innate flaws in the titles, is that it isn't really much of an improvement. It's a collection that lacks basic new features that are present in many other HD collections. It's a remarkably bare-bones collection, but if you're a fan of the franchise or interested in experiencing the series for the first time, this is your best bet.

Nintendo 3DSMetro.co.uk (Dec 16, 2014)
The sheer age of the games are beginning to count against them but Ace Attorney still remains exhibit A in how to make story-based games fun and engaging.

Nintendo 3DSPocket Gamer UK (Dec 16, 2014)
It's not a perfect port, but this is a massive, faithful, and wonderful inexpensive collection of three terrific adventure games.

For newcomers interested in playing the original games, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is a great package. However, series veterans will find little reason to double-dip.

Nintendo 3DSArcade Sushi (Dec 09, 2014)
Streamlined trials notwithstanding, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is a fantastic way to live or re-live the best Phoenix Wright games in the series. The captivating stories and kooky cast of characters are completely intact, all with a dazzling new coat of 3D paint that makes them look better than ever. Those who have never played the games before will have no objection from me should they decide to proceed down this line of questioning.

Nintendo 3DSDigitally Downloaded (Dec 17, 2014)
As someone who has been interested in the Phoenix Wright series for years but never taken the plunge until now, it would be hard not to recommend this title to someone just like myself. I hope to see more titles like this make their way outside of Japan. There is absolutely something to be said for a slower paced, cerebral experience that put an emphasis on excellent writing and a player who has to pay attention to the storyline as it progresses. This seems like the type of title that would have been a potentially risky endeavour when it was first brought over to North America, but now Phoenix Wright is one of the most recognised DS properties out there. It would be great to see more like it.

Nintendo 3DSDestructoid (Dec 27, 2014)
If you’ve never played Phoenix Wright, or if you’ve only played one or two of the original trilogy, this collection is a great way to finally rectify that. However, if you’ve picked them up for the DS, or the Wii, or iOS (or Windows for our Japanese friends), you may want to pass unless you're looking for a convenient way to experience the games. With no new features aside from the rudimentary 3D, this collection is meant to satisfy those who haven’t come to love the unique and colorful world of Phoenix Wright. If you know someone who hasn’t been so fortuitous, take one of those shiny new gift cards you just got and get them a copy. You’ll be doing them a favor.

Nintendo 3DSFNintendo (Dec 23, 2014)

If you’ve never experienced them before, then Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is an entertainingly compelling collection of courtroom-based visual novels with excellent writing and colourful characters who help paper over game mechanics that can at times be overly rigid and illogical. However, if you’ve already played these games – perhaps even more than once already – then there’s very little incentive to take this collection into your custody.

The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy isn't worth rebuying if you already have the iOS versions or still have your DS copies in rotation. However, all three games are as great now as they were upon release, and it's hard to complain about getting more of a good thing.

Nintendo 3DSGameSpot (Dec 09, 2014)
There is, of course, the off-chance that the trilogy might be someone's first exposure to the life and times of Phoenix Wright, or at least their first exposure in a great many years, and it's as refined a jumping-off point for that as can be expected. For anyone for whom this is their third, four, or fifth time around, there's nothing new to discover, aside from the convenience of having all three games in one handy digital package. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, but knowing what the 3DS and this series is capable of, the games' flaws have never been more glaring, and not nearly enough has been done to overrule the objections players have had for years.
