Pictureka! Museum Mayhem is a hidden object game and an electronic adaptation of a board game by Hasbro. The main game screen is mostly occupied by several random objects, with the left side displaying the time left, several cards and the hint button. At the top, a meter shows a dog running towards a bone in a picture gallery.
The objective is to help the dog to the bone before the time runs out, by clicking on the objects that have the characteristics described on the cards: "things that can fly", "numbers", "wooden things" and so on. The cards also show the number of objects that must be found before they are cleared and replaced. Each cleared card makes the dog get closer to the bone, that shows the number of points necessary to reach it. Blue, green and red cards are worth one, two and three points respectively. The level is restarted if the dog can't get to the bone on time.
Randomly, a thief appears inside a box at the bottom-left of the screen. In this special round, the goal is to clear a series of gold cards before the burglar steals all the points.
Clicking on incorrect objects repeatedly results in a time deduction penalty. Each level has one hint available, that shows the position of one of the objects. The cards can be discarded and replaced at any moment with the pass button. Finding objects that match several cards gives combo points.
