Pikmin é um típico jogo da Nintendo: criativo, carismático e bastante acessível. Se a idéia de um jogo de estratégia diferente lhe parece interessante, Pikmin certamente é uma boa escolha. Para os demais, é impossível não se levar pelo charme dessa excelente obra de Miyamoto.

I’m eager to take a go at the already in development Pikmin II, which promises to be a much larger and richer chapter to the new Pikmin series. Just plain cool, and well worth a bit of cash from my account.

The GameCube was the biggest console launch in the history of Nintendo. They shipped more of the little cubes on day one than they did Game Boy Advance and according to Nintendo they virtually sold out in a few days. Part of this is due to the hype surrounding the console, but playing a more important role in its success over the past few weeks has been the excellent and diverse software available on the platform. Looking back at the launch and playing the games I couldn’t help but feel something was missing. Sure, Luigi’s Mansion was fun and Wave Race offered up some new gameplay, but both titles don’t seem to possess the Nintendo magic. Perhaps it’s because Luigi’s Mansion is too linear or because Wave Race’s controls weren’t as simple to master, but whatever the case may be, both titles lacked all of the ingredients needed to produce a “AAA” title. And that’s where Pikmin comes in.

Pikmin provides existential proof that there are still grand new ideas out there in the gaming universe. It just takes a tiny little bulbous spaceman and his sentient vegetable friends to find them.
Pikmin was one of the first 10 games released on the Game Cube, and Nintendo did a great job with this one. You play the role of Captain Olimar, whose ship (called the Dolphin) collided with an asteroid and scattered 30 parts to his ship on a planet. Once he lands, he finds a strange, red, very helpful creature and decides to call it Pikmin. Later, he finds that he can create more Pikmin by having the Pikmin kill other creatures and bring them back to the base, called Onion.

This game is one of the best I have ever played and it is such a refreshing change from anything else I have ever played or that’s on the market at the moment. Shigeru Miyamoto is a genius, how anyone can think of and create such a game is beyond me, Pikmin is a true work of art, anyone who has a Nintendo Game Cube should buy it and anyone who hasn’t a Game Cube should buy one because it already has two absolute corkers, Rogue Leader and Pikmin.

There’s never been anything quite like Pikmin before, and Nintendo was well justified in hiding this gem of a game from the world until this past E3. That said, what makes this game so great? Gamers are empowered with a small army with which to go out and conquer a miniature garden infested with miscellaneous vermin. Along the way, the Pikmin are befriended, brain-busting puzzles are solved, and ultimately gaming nirvana is reached. With such a wide appeal reaching out across all demographics – gamers and non-gamers alike – Pikmin is on its way to becoming a game for the ages, and is not to be missed.

I found the game’s controls to be perfectly tuned for ordering your allies around, and as a side note, the controller itself is a work of ergonomic art. Although this is essentially a detailed puzzle game, the detail is truly a sight to behold. Ho segnalato questo gioco nel genere "action strategy", ma in realtà neanche "strategico o gestionale in tempo reale" renderebbe esattamente l'idea: Pikmin è Pikmin, punto e basta. Si tratta di una perla rara e come tale non ha bisogno di nessun genere in cui categorizzarlo: non va esaminato sotto l'aspetto tecnico - per quanto importante e ben realizzato -, ma sotto l'aspetto emozionale. Pikmin è un gioco strano, dove tutti gli aspetti tradizionali del "videogame" vengono giustificati dalla storia, rendendo il tutto estremamente plausibile: avete un obiettivo da raggiungere in un tempo dato e parecchi ostacoli che cercheranno di mettervi i bastoni tra le ruote. E' paurosamente simile alla vita vera, non credete?

This is Mr. Miyamoto’s most original game since Donkey Kong hit the arcades back in the 80’s. Anybody who considers themselves a Nintendo fan must buy this game. However, if not a true to life hard core Nintendo fan you may want to rent this game first. Featuring a style only Nintendo can create this is the classic game for the Gamecube in 2001.

Strategy, resource management type games aren’t generally the what I like to play, but something about Pikmin’s feel really drew me to it, and still keeps me coming back for more. I will beat this game, and probably more than once. Pikmin more than exemplifies what “The Nintendo Difference” is all about. I think Pikmin will probably be the sleeper hit of the year. Shigeru Miyamoto has created yet another unique and wonderful experience.

It’s hard to put across just how inventive, original and amazing this game is, you really do have to play it in order to see what all the fuss is about. Its length is a slightly worrying factor but it’s not that bad, after all its quality not quantity and this game is quality in leaps and bounds. This has been said many times, but pikmin really is one of the most innovative and freshest games to come out in a long while. It's unique style alone warrants a look, and it's addictive play will keep gamers coming back. With nothing else matching Pikmin's total brilliance of game design, it looks like Nintendo may have another Game of the Year on its hands.

Anfangs weiß man noch nicht so recht, was man von diesem Spiel halten soll, aber nach einiger Zeit setzt der große Motivationsschub ein. Die süßen, kleinen Pikmin versprühen einen Charme, dem man sich nur schwer entziehen kann. Es sieht einfach zu komisch aus, wenn eine Hundertschaft von wackelnden Zwiebelköpfen durchs Gemüsebeet marschiert und geradewegs in ihr Verderben rennt. Das ungewöhnliche Spielprinzip ist vielleicht nicht für jeden sofort zugänglich, aber ist man erst mal in die Pikmin-Welt eingetaucht, kommt man so schnell nicht wieder heraus!

Pikmin ist ein recht langsames Spiel für Leute mit Zeit und Muße. Freunde knalliger Action und totaler Reizüberflutung werden den Titel relativ schnell gelangweilt in die nächste Ecke feuern. Zumal der Einstieg etwas zäh ist, da du eine gewisse Anzahl an Pikmin für ein erfolgreiches Vorankommen brauchst und dich erst einmal mit den Fähigkeiten deiner Wuselwesen auseinander setzen musst. Ist diese kurze (etwa eine Stunde dauernde) Eingewöhnungsphase jedoch erst einmal überstanden, wächst die Begeisterung von Minute zu Minute, denn Pikmin ist liebevoll bis ins Detail produziert. Der offene Lösungsansatz macht immer wieder Lust zum Ausprobieren und da du jeweils am Ende eines Tages abspeichern kannst, hast du jederzeit die Kontrolle über deinen Fortschritt. Die munter dudelnde, leicht schräge Musik tut ein Übriges, um diesen insgesamt entspannenden Eindruck zu unterstützen.

Pikmin ist ein für alle Altersgruppen spaßiger Genremix, der trotz der bunten Aufmachung viele strategische Überlegungen vom Spieler fordert. Die gelungene Präsentation und die einfach Bedienung lassen zu Beginn viel Spielspaß aufkommen. Der ebbt aber leider etwas schnell wieder ab, da der Spielumfang nicht allzu hoch ist. Somit ist Pikmin zwar kein Langzeitmotivator, kann aber einige sehr nette Spielstunden bereiten.

Samoin pisteitä syö vakiopelaajalle turhan tiivis pelitahti - elämässä on muutenkin jatkuva kiire, joten en millään jaksaisi vipeltää paikasta toiseen kuvaruudullakin. If you can overlook the brevity of the game and some weak camera controls, Pikmin is worth the time and money you put into it. The visual elements, gameplay, controls, and tone of the game are dead-on perfect. Pikmin is certainly the stronger of the two Miyamoto games that have graced the Gamecube to this point.

Glückwunsch! Der GameCube-Einstand von Miyamoto-San ist gelungen. Ein hochmotivierendes Spielprinzip geht einher mit einer nach anfänglichen kleinen Problemen gut gelösten Steuerung. Und auch die Grafik kann mit Ausnahme der Landschaftstexturen in der höchsten Zoom-Stufe überzeugen. Einzig der Sound kann nicht so ganz mithalten. Zu schade nur, dass der Wuselspaß nach gut zehn bis zwölf Stunden vorbei ist - auch wenn der Challenge-Modus die Spielzeit nochmals verdoppelt. Pikmin stellt das neueste Kapitel der „typischen“ Nintendo-Spiele dar: innovativ, technisch hervorragend, fordernd und einfach niedlich.

Pikmin is a fantastic game, particularly for those who haven't played it before and will be experiencing it for the first time. The Remote greatly enhances the experience and makes commanding Pikmin much easier. If you've already played the game to death and don't feel the urge to play through it again then this may not be for you because it doesn't offer much that's new, but for everyone else it's highly recommended. Just bear in mind that the better sequel is on its way soon.

Like I said before, this game is unique. It takes a little bit of thinking, logic, and good ol’ exploration to play the game, and this might turn off some casual gamers. But if you’re reading this, I guess you’re not casual, you’re HARDCORE! So give it a rent, and if you don’t beat it in 5 days, make your decision then. The game is a fresh look at what the next-generation of “new” games are going to be and overall it’s a fun experience. If you’re curious, I think the name is a play on words of “Pick-Men” because you have to “pick” the little “men” out of the ground. Just a guess! Overall, Pikmin isn’t a must-have title for the Gamecube, but it’s a good one-player experience if you don’t have any friends to play Smash Bros. with.

That's about all there is to say about the game. It doesn't last long, but those few hours are really worth it. Since this is the kind game that you come back only or the gameplay, you'll either finish it once and then put it aside or sell it, or you'll play it again and again and again and try to complete it faster and get higher scores. There's also a challenge mode where you can pick any of the 5 stages and try to grow as many pikmin in one day as possible. It can be fun, but I didn't really play it since I was in mostly for the main game. With Pikmin 2 on the way being a lot bigger and having randomly generated dungeons, it might be a good idea to wait, but you can also, like me, buy this one and get used to the gameplay, and then be even better in Pikmin 2.

Pikmin is a breath of fresh air for the console market. Nintendo finally has a must have game, that should be owned by ever GC supporter. I was pleased to find that my six-year-old daughter had as much fun as I did playing the game. Although she became a bit frustrated at points (as I did) she still was able to manage to manipulate the pikmin the way she intended. For those who say kids shouldn't play video games... shame on you!

Vets will probably be fine with their dusty GC copies, but this is certainly a game worth experiencing, in its old or waggle-enhanced form.

Nintendo is clearly preparing the market for a new Pikmin experience by rereleasing both GameCube instalments of the Pikmin franchise. The first remain as playable as it was back in 2001. However, if you devoured it back then, be forewarned that there's no extra meat on the bone no extras, no real refinements beyond the Wii control scheme. If you never got into it, though, don't let the cut-price Wii version slip through your fingers this time.

Pikmin strikes a nice balance of action and puzzle-solving. The camera is sometimes an issue, but it doesn't dampen the fun. Once you get drawn into its little virtual world, you actually start empathizing for the little Pikmin. I truly felt guilty whenever I left a few behind at the end of a day, knowing they would be eaten by nocturnal carnivores. This game will appeal to both men and women of all ages. Although its gameplay wears thin over time, Pikmin will fascinate for hours on end.

A small step for Nintendo’s labs, an enormous achievement for the videogame world! Jokes aside, my opinion about this game is that nobody can truly appreciate it unless he tries it himself. No matter how much I praise the title, you’ll have to try it before you can judge it for what it really is. It is a very original game, with the only flaw being a short lifetime. Luckily, if you’re anything like me, you will feel the urge to play it a second time to complete it with a better score and a better time.
As you might expect of the latest game from Shigeru Miyamoto (of Mario and Zelda fame), the game design in Pikmin is unique and elegant. As the leader of a race of ant-like creatures called Pikmin, you have exactly as much control over your miniature army as you need. You can manipulate them right down to a single man (or plant, or whatever they are), if you like, without ever getting swamped in the details. And that's important, because the balancing act that is the heart of this game always requires your attention. Pikmin is all about how you allocate your resources, with no one right way to do it. The main goal is supposed to be locating the parts of your broken spaceship within 30 days, but ultimately Pikmin becomes a challenge to beat yourself (no, not down there). In a nutshell, those who enjoy the game enough to play a second or third time will find plenty to keep them occupied. The only problem we had with Pikmin concerns where and how it ends.

Pikmin newbies and curious Wii owners alike should definitely take a look at New Control Play! Pikmin, especially if they have a craving for something a bit different. Veteran gamers on the other hand may be fine with their dusty GameCube copies, but they should know that this is certainly a game worth re-experiencing with the new Wii centric controls. I quite enjoyed this re-release of this cutesy title as Pikmin is definitely a minor classic, and the New Play Control version makes it even better.

Plus it’s good value for money; if you missed it the first time around, here’s your chance to make amends.
New Play Control! Pikmin (and soon-to-be-released Pikmin 2) seems to be Nintendo's way of introducing the series to its new legion of Wii owners before the inevitable unveiling of Pikmin 3. For those folks who've already experienced the game, perhaps there isn't enough here to warrant a purchase. After all, New Play Control! Pikmin 2 is already lined up for release, and like its GameCube counterpart, it's sure to be the better game. However, for anyone who hasn't yet had a chance to give Pikmin a go, this is a great opportunity to jump into the series. The new Wii controls work great, and though the production values have aged a bit, it's still a fine game worth going back to.

The game may be as old as the Wii's predecessor, but New Play Control! Pikmin still remains a very challenging and engaging title. While the graphics haven't held up as well as one would have hoped, the sound and gameplay definitely remain timeless. This is especially true of the new controls, which side with the argument that a real-time strategy game can actually work well on a console like the Wii. Fans of the original will want to check this out, if only to see how the game fares with the Wii control scheme.

Even so, the rerelease of Pikmin is an excellent addition to the Wii library that's perfect for both collectors and newcomers to the franchise alike. Really, if you've never dabbled with the series before, the New Play Control! title is a superb buy, especially since it retails for a reduced price. That said, if you've experienced it all years ago and don't feel the urge to replay or recollect the games, you'll be fine holding off for a full-fledged sequel that's sure to deliver a full-blown overhaul, as opposed to some shiny new paint.

You can check the scores to get a good impression of how well Pikmin does in 2009: I can tell you that if you never played this game on the GameCube, now's your chance to get into it. The control fiddling has worked, so hats off to the new Pikmin team, and I can recommend this one to any Wii owners, of any age. The argument about Nintendo's pitching 'em young sticks like napalm here, but if you can get over that you'll find a good bit of fun to be had.

Pikmin proved to be quite a revelation when first released, and its charm is not only still there today, but magnified by the inclusion of some very intuitive Wii Remote motion controls and a few other extras to keep fans happy. It might not be the longest adventure ever, but it definitely still remains a very impressive introduction to the series.

Pikmin is a quirky, innovative, colourful, charming, and addictive game- epitomising exactly what Nintendo are all about. Sure, it’s just a GameCube port with Wii controls slapped on, but it works well. The only downside to the Wii version is the lack of extra content- it would have been nice to see some more levels or gameplay modes to justify the price tag. If you’ve never played Pikmin before, it comes with my highest recommendation. If you have, you’ll still enjoy it, although it might be worthwhile to just wait for the superior Pikmin 2.

For the first time, real-time strategy concepts like resource building and army management feel at home on a console. It also helps that the game is all fun and no filler. There isn’t any place where you have to hammer through “that one annoying part” just to move forward. Yes, Pikmin is short, but it doesn’t feel too short; it feels complete. It’s exactly as long as it should be. The five areas have been refined down to the last pixel. Even the time limit is a polished jewel that adds many facets to the overall strategy. From a design standpoint, there aren’t any loose ends in Pikmin. You’ll beat the original adventure. You challenge the Challenge Mode. You’ll hunger for Pikmin 2. Until then, you’ll happily play through the original adventure again, just to do it with sharper skill, in less time. Anyone hungering for the best of the GameCube should try Pikmin. It might not be flashy enough to be called a system-seller, but it’s among the most original games in years.

Att odla Pikmins, lösa de strålande små pussel som Nintendo utformat samt kämpa mot en originell flora fiender är som jag nämnde tidigare väldigt underhållande. Jag hade inga speciella förväntningar på Pikmin men är nu helt fast och kommer inte att kunna sluta förrän Kapten Olimars hemresa är säkrad. Detta är för alla åldrar och för alla speltyper, ett brett och mycket underhållande spel från Nintendo och hade det inte varit för tidsbegränsningen i spelet hade ett ännu högre betyg utdelats. Rekommenderas varmt.

Podsumowując New Play Control! Pikmin to naprawdę dobry kawałek kodu, który nie jest zrobiony na „odwal się”. Pomimo iż gra nie jest zbyt długa (6-10h) i może ciut się zestarzała przez ostatnie 10 lat, to posiada jednak ogromne pokłady grywalności, a dzięki prostocie i lekkiemu podejściu do tematu bez niepotrzebnie skomplikowanej fabuły, na pewno nikt nie będzie narzekał na nudę. Dodatkowo po pierwszym przejściu całej gry, odkrywa się tryb Challenge Mode, w którym to mamy do wykonania różne krótkie proste zadania na czas. Zdecydowanie polecam.

Overall Pikmin is something very different, if I was going to compare it to anything that has gone before it would be 'Lemmings', but I think Pikmin offers the player a little more adventure, and lot more imagination - Pikmin really is something only Shigeru Miyamoto could have dreamed up.

Overall, Pikmin just falls short of greatness due to visuals that don't push the hardware, a few niggles control and camera-wise and gameplay that simply repeats after the blue Pikmin are discovered. A larger range of Pikmin with varied talents and abilities and a less abstract and fantastic setting would have helped (this clearly isn't the Pikmin's home planet so why couldn't Olimar have crash landed on Earth, and had recognizable oversized terrestrial creatures to worry about?). Addictive and fun for a while, and you will come back for more, but not the classic we were hoping for.

Budget-conscious gamers may wish to simply give "Pikmin" a rental. It's fairly short and addictive enough so that most gamers will complete it within the average rental period. However, gamers with a love of elegantly designed games that have solid gameplay at their core will probably want "Pikmin" in their permanent collection. There are so many ways to experiment with the Pikmin and explore their world that you can play "Pikmin" again and again. Whatever your preferred method, "Pikmin" is certainly worth a try. It's one of the few singularly unique titles to find its way to shelves this year and is truly great fun.

The Pikmin seem willing enough to fall into line: breaking down walls, lugging parts of the spaceship, building bridges and collecting seeds to spawn more Pikmin. Nightfall is a perilous time for the Pikmin, so it's your job to protect them from the nocturnal foe. There's also an assortment of daytime hazards, but you can send your Pikmin in to fight these battles for you. You'll soon learn that there's a wide range of Pikmin, (recognisable by their varying colours), each with different skills. It's important to breed and care for legions of each kind of Pikmin so you can achieve your objective. The slavelike eagerness of the Pikmin to follow Olimar around is slightly unnerving - especially after you've accidentally killed many of them by leading them into danger. Nevertheless the game gives off a harmonious vibe coupled with some strategic puzzlesolving.

It could be said that the GameCube is the platform that really lets Nintendo's creative guru Shigeru Miyamoto loose, conceptually. Pikmin is a sterling example of exactly how far the man's imagination can stretch, and his ability to design endearing, playable and thoroughly bizarre titles is resplendent throughout. It's obvious that he has a creative 'Midas touch', and Pikmin is full of intriguing ideas and wonderful characters through his influence, but is it actually any good to play?

If you loved Pikmin and are dying to play again you could probably find a copy way cheaper on the Gamecube (which you can still play on your Wii through backwards compatibility). However, if you’d like to give the new controls a shot, they make the game a little easier to control and for $30, it’s not going to prevent you from checking out some other new games as well. It’s a faithful port with added controls that feel natural and not forced.

The fact is, Pikmin still plays well and, sequel aside, remains tragically unique eight years after its debut. The Wii interface is a brilliant fit for the game, giving it the speed and fluidity of a true RTS. In a perfect world, developers would use this release as a template for new, fresh real-time strategy efforts on Wii. Unfortunately, Japanese developers tend to shy away from the RTS genre, and few American publishers have the integrity to use Wii for anything more ambitious than a dumping ground for cheap Flash game ports, so that seems unlikely. At least we have Pikmin (and inevitably its sequel) -- aging, but better than ever in this rendition.

El regreso de Pikmin a la industria del videojuego no ha sido como todos esperaban. Esta primera entrega de Wii y estreno del sello New Play Control cuenta con los suficientes ingredientes como para convertirse, de nuevo, en uno de los referentes en cuanto a estrategia en tiempo real se refiere. Sin embargo, para todos aquellos jugadores que ya completaron el juego en Gamecube, que no son pocos, las novedades incluidas en esta revisión pueden antojarse un poco cortas, pues no hay nuevos modos de juego, una revisión palpable de los gráficos o añadidos interesantes más allá del control, que ya es mucho. Por suerte, uno de los factores decisivos a la hora de hacernos con un videojuego es la relación calidad-precio, que precisamente en la línea New Play Control y con este Pikmin en especial, cumple notablemente. El juego ya está a la venta en los centros especializados a un precio recomendado de 29.95€.

Certains apprécieront le concept, d'autres pas. Les Pikmins sont à la fois des amis, des animaux de compagnie… tout ce que vous voudrez. Le paysage, à l'image du jeu, est somptueux, il respire de tranquillité et nous invite facilement à l'arpenter de fond en comble en compagnie de nos petits copains. Un must have pour ceux qui n'ont pas eu l'honneur de s'y essayer, un bon retour aux sources pour les autres.

Retrouver Pikmin sur une console Nintendo est une chance, surtout pour ceux qui étaient passé à côté de cet ovni vidéoludique dans sa version GameCube. En revanche, il ne faut pas s'attendre à découvrir quoi que ce soit de véritablement inédit car la nouvelle façon de jouer ne change finalement pas les fondements du titre. Il est donc probable que tout le monde n'accrochera pas forcément au concept de ce jeu de stratégie/exploration unique en son genre. L'expérience est pourtant véritablement prenante et originale et se verra largement optimisée avec l'arrivée de Pikmin 2.

Young children are able to appreciate the game's relative ease, but more experienced gamers will have some interesting challenges to await them. A game that is easy to learn, but difficult to master, Pikmin is a very good choice if you are looking for a game to tickle your fancy. It's cheap now too, so it won't empty your wallet if you decide to purchase it. Pikmin 2 will be coming out soon, though...

New Play Control! Pikmin is niet alleen een slimme, maar ook een leuke toevoeging aan het assortiment van de Nintendo Wii. De besturing, waar het uiteindelijk om gaat, is geperfectioneerd. Zowel degenen die Pikmin al eerder gespeeld hebben en (voornamelijk) degenen die nog geen ervaring hebben met Pikmin, moeten deze game zonder twijfel aanschaffen. Hoewel de game gedateerd is, voelt dit zoals Pikmin op de GameCube had horen te zijn.

Pikmin is undoubtedly suffused with that old Miyamoto magic but, although addictive, it leaves one feeling oddly underwhelmed. It’s a beautiful and engrossing game, but has the feel of a technical demo writ large. The game is played out at the same languid pace, and lacks a sense of drama. Having said that, a larger, more varied Pikmin 2 would certainly be most welcome.

Même si la prise en main adaptée à la Wiimote et au Nunchuk nécessite un petit temps d'adaptation avant que les actions ne s'enchaînent de façon fluide, elle apporte un plus sans pour autant bouleverser les habitudes. Ce qui explique sans doute le prix abordable du jeu - moins de 30€ - qui risque pourtant de n'intéresser que les collectionneurs et les épargnés par la crise

With a retail price of £29.99 and price cuts already taking place, New Play Control! Pikmin is certainly good value for money. The Wii Remote control scheme suits the game well and newcomers aren't likely to think they're playing a game originally released in 2001, but at the same time the sequel is the better game. If you've already experienced the charm of Pikmin you're better off waiting for the tweaked second game, but if you missed out on the GameCube and fancy some easy to play real-time strategy there's no reason not to pick this up in preparation for the sequel.

Only, of course, there has: its sequel. And this presents us with the biggest problem by far with this release. Pikmin 2 is also due a New Play Control! reissue this year, and it's a better game in every respect. It's longer and more sophisticated, with more varied Pikmin and enemy types; it has co-operative and competitive multiplayer; it has randomised caves with finite Pikmin numbers, ideal for the game's challenge mode; it has no time limit. It represents much better value, and we're hard-pressed not to recommend you hold off and buy that instead. That's almost a shame - because in truth, Pikmin is a minor classic, and this is the best version of it.

At the end of the day, though, Pikmin deserves mass praise for simply making real-time strategy work so damned well on a console. If Halo is the ultimate example of FPS gaming on a console, then Pikmin deserves a similar accolade for RTS. While the pace, structure and general mental workout may not be everyone, give the game some time and you should be pleasantly surprised. Technically, it's a fantastic showcase for what the GameCube do, of course, but most impressive of all is the fact that it's just so original. Not an essentially quality in games, but always an enjoyable one. Give the little guys a chance - you might just have some fun with them.

Pikmin is a wonderful game while it lasted. I don’t plan on going back that soon to it, and did have a good gaming experience during play. I just hope next time Miyamoto tries to add something that makes you want to replay the game. Maybe in Pikmin 2...

So why not a higher score if the graphics, gameplay, and sound are quite amazing? The game is just too short, and once you've beaten it you may never want to play it again. Less emphasis on time and more on puzzles would've done the game a treat as would any form of multiplayer mode, sure a multiplayer mode would've gona against any storyline but it could be a lot of fun, and enough reason to keep turning it back on. However negative this may sound, this game is a definate must-play. Get your hands on it somehow and start picking.

Die Faszination aus GameCube-Tagen ist einfach verflogen - zumal der Nachfolger Pikmin 2 deutlich besser war: Mehr Arten, mehr Taktik, mehr Komfort, besseres Leveldesign. Und weil der auch noch als New Play Control!-Variante kommt, gibt es eigentlich keinen Grund, jetzt schon bei diesem lauwarmen Aufguss für Neukunden zuzuschlagen. Zum Thema "30 Euro und günstig": Das GameCube-Original aus dem Jahr 2002 kann man deutlich billiger erwerben. Und warum gibt es nicht gleich ein Doppelpack aus beiden Pikmins? Natürlich wird aus einem großartigen Strategiespiel wie Pikmin kein schlechtes, nur weil man es 1:1 umsetzt. Aber ein echtes Remake wäre edler und angemessener gewesen, um mehr als ein halbwegs befriedigtes Abnicken zu ernten: Ich will für Wii kein billig nachproduziertes Pikmin 1 und 2, ich will ein neues Pikmin 3 mit Online-Unterstützung, kreativeren Levels und schönerer Kulisse!

Cette version New Play Control! de Pikmin laisse perplexe. D'un côté, il y'a cette adaptation « à la va vite », au contenu toujours pauvre et aux graphismes non modifiés n'ayant plus lieu d'être . De l'autre, un titre reconnu qui n'a plus besoin de faire ses preuves. Au final, malgré quelques détails décevant, Pikmin est un jeu toujours aussi fun au gameplay agréable.

Premier titre de l'inqualifiable gamme "Nouvelle façon de jouer" sur Wii, Pikmin tentera de faire entrer chez les possesseurs de la machine des jeux GameCube revendus en l'état, ou presque. La différence est qu'ici, le titre est proposé à 30€, et avec un gameplay retravaillé pour profiter du duo télécommande/Nunchuk. Côté ludique, force est de constater que même aujourd'hui, Pikmin reste une petite perle d'inventivité et d'ambiance. Ceux qui prendraient le train en marche trouveront donc certainement beaucoup de plaisir à vivre les aventures du capitaine Olimar et de ses petits protégés à travers des missions de survie écolo à mi-chemin entre la stratégie en temps réel et le puzzle ; le tout rythmé par une gestion du temps intraitable obligeant à vraiment bien gérer toutes ses actions. Bonne surprise, la nouvelle maniabilité convient également très bien à un titre de ce genre, et le sifflet s'en trouve bien plus efficace pour rappeler ses troupes à grande distance.

Misschien heb je gemerkt aan de recensie dat ie voornamelijk gaat over het feit dat het een inspiratieloze overzetting is. Dat is ook voornamelijk wat New Play Control! Pikmin is: een nutteloze port in plaats van een goede aanvulling op het karige aanbod van goede games op de Wii. Pikmin was in 2002 een erg toffe strategiegame en dat is nog grotendeels hetzelfde gebleven. Het is alleen een verschrikkelijk product dat getuigt van een chronisch gebrek aan creativiteit, service aan de fans (waarom niet Pikmin 1 en 2 bundelen) en respect. Als je Pikmin echter ‘altijd al’ had willen spelen, dan is nu je kans hoor. Poeh poeh.

Still, even though the game is short, it's a solid title. It's quite unique and is the first great real time strategy game I've seen on a console. It looks great, there are no slowdowns, and there is virtually no learning curve.
