PlayStation 3Defunct Games (Sep 21, 2009)
No matter what you think of any one of these games, there's one thing you can't complain about - the visuals. This is without a doubt the best any of these games has ever looked on a game console. And outside of having the arcade machine in your living room, you simply cannot get any closer to the real thing. The high definition graphics make every table look lifelike, complete with flaws and a reflection on the glass. As impressed as I was by the graphics on the Wii, I was blown away by Pinball Hall of Fame on the PlayStation 3.

You can play the games freely or try the addictive Williams Challenge mode which requires you to attain a minimal score on each machine. Also included are comprehensive instructions for each game, and you'd be surprised just how elaborate and sophisticated the rules can be. Even so, you can just dive into any of these tables and start having fun immediately. My friend George and I played this game for hours on end, moving from one table to the next. With a replay value that's through the stratosphere, Pinball Hall of Fame is a fantastic addition to any Wii collection.

You may think I'm crazy, but Pinball Hall of Fame: The William Collection is easily one of the best games on the Wii. This game not only recreates ten of the best pinball machines of all time, but it also offers some of the best pinball physics around. Pinball Hall of Fame is not to be missed!

Obviously the game isn't going to revolutionize your life, but for existing pinball fans who have been waiting years for a truly worthwhile game, the wait is officially over. It's difficult to imagine anyone ever topping this.

WiiDefunct Games (May 28, 2008)
The truth is that these days a pinball video game is a hard sell, no matter how good the product is. The kids of today aren't looking to be taught the ins and outs of classic pinball machines, they want to shoot stuff or drive a go kart. But maybe there's enough room on the Wii to have both kinds of games, especially when Pinball Hall of Fame is so good. It's hard to imagine a better pinball game than this, but I challenge Crave to top this with whatever they have in store for us next. Pinball Hall of Fame is a worthwhile addition to any Wii library, and when it comes right down to it that's just about the best thing you can say about a $30 pinball game.

WiiWorth Playing (May 20, 2008)
All this whining and pining for bygone days aside, Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection is an entertaining game you'll pick up and put down, quite possibly for years to come. It's well worth the paltry price, particularly if you're old enough to remember when arcade plays were just a quarter per play, but still you'd be mortified to tally exactly how much money you spent machine-hopping in those dark, stuffy chambers of teenage delights.

If you have an interest in pinball, then this game is crack on a disc. 13 real life tables, all of them classics, faithfully recreated for you to enjoy in the comfort of your home. Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection is the best pinball game on the PS3 and perhaps the best pinball game of all time. Thumbs up!

PlayStation 2Game Chronicles (Feb 12, 2008)
It’s been quite a while since I’ve stepped inside an arcade and popped a few quarters into a pinball machine, but now I can do it from the safety of my own home and without losing $10 dollars or more. From the moment I picked up my controller until I had to put it down due to wore out fingers, I was hooked. This is a title definitely worth picking up for yourself or any lover of pinball machines.

It's a hell of a lot of fun, and hardcore pinball fans will appreciate the special achievements and unlockables like hidden tables and original promotional pamphlets.

It wasn’t long ago that The Gottlieb Collection was released. That was the video game – the first video game – that captured every nuance of real pinball machines. The Williams Collection does the same and, thanks to a few unbeatable tables, is even more fun to play.

The machines are presented in a virtual arcade environment that feels like something out of the 1980's. In addition to recording high scores, each game is fully configurable and offers a series of challenges. Pinball Hall of Fame is an excellent value. This is one of those disks that you toss in for a quick game, and end up playing for three hours.

Overall, Pinball Hall of Fame is a good game for pinball fans. It brings back some of the better tables that Williams has made throughout the years for fans to enjoy at home. Plus, the added HD graphics and additional tables give owners of the previous version a new reason to pick it up as well. Pinball fans should definitely check this out, and even non-fans should give this a look.

Eagle-eyes will notice a few rough spots, but there's enough good, solid virtual pinball here to keep players satisfied.

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection doesn't have a lot of competition, so saying that it's the best pinball game currently available for the Xbox 360 wouldn't count for much. With its great selection of tables and believable physics, this is one of the better pinball games to be released for any platform in recent memory, though, and while it's significantly more expensive than a Pinball FX download, it's still a lot more affordable than a real table.

Playing pinball is a lot of fun and I never thought I would enjoy a pinball game on my Wii more than some of the other games I have for the system. I think Pinball Hall of Fame - The Williams Collection will appeal perfectly to the casual gamers that are buying the Wii, but that doesn’t mean that hardcore gamers also won’t enjoy this game. If you are looking for a great pinball game for your home, but don’t have the room for a full blown pinball machine then Pinball Hall of Fame - The Williams Collection is the next best thing.

Overall, this game is a must-buy for collectors or retro game fans. Pinball fans would be crazy to pass up such a faithful recreation of some of the game’s best tables, and gamers looking for a simple, addictive title on a budget could do far worse.

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection was made for pinball wizards: it's a fantastic fan service of the game's recent past that puts excellent attention to the detail of the genre. It's always better to play the real machine than virtual representations of them, but this collection is a great alternative at a solid value. And these pinball machines will never wear out on you.

With various other superior versions out there on other formats, hardened pinball veterans are better off getting their score-chasing thrills on systems that can do justice to the subject matter. The ageing PSP just isn't quite up to the task.
