PlayAsManager was an online game based on the Player Manager series of football management games. The game featured all 92 teams from the top four divisions of English football and each team could be controlled by a human player. Like other games of its kind players could buy and sell players, pick a line up and create tactics and playing styles. The game was turn-based and worked similar to a play by e-mail game with most of the playing being done offline with data being downloaded at the start of a session and then submitted only when all changes had been made. There were two versions of the game client: the full game which shows matches in 3D and the scanner version which only shows a top down view of the pitch.
