DescriptionAssassin's Creed: Syndicate - Jack the Ripper is DLC (downloadable content) for Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. It is set in 1888, twenty years after the happening of the original: Evie returns to London and finds only disaster - the Assassins' grasp of the London districts is over, Jacob is missing and the Rooks now belong to Jack the Ripper. Her mission is clear: stopping Jack's murder of prostitutes.
The most important additions of this DLC are the combat mechanics. The Rooks are much harder to fight than the enemies in Syndicate, but fortunately Evie learned some new tricks during her time in India: if she manages to put fear into enemies, they flee. This is achieved by using brutal takedowns (only available from stealth), spikes (impales enemies) and fear bombs. The skill tree of the previous game is replaced with a smaller tree with fear abilities.
The DLC is restricted to the districts of Whitechapel and the City of London. Besides following the main missions, the player can also participate in new optional associate activities, e.g. carriage escorts, bounty hunts, prostitute liberation (similar to child liberation of the main game, but Rooks kill of the prostitutes if Evie is spotted), shaming punters or fighting rings. Of course there are also more collectibles.
While Evie is the protagonist of the game, the player takes control over Jack the Ripper during some story segments. Jack has generally a similar skill set than Evie with the important difference that his fear attacks are deadly instead of non-lethal.
