God is a Geek (Oct 08, 2019)
GRID replicates the feeling of motorsport without sacrificing any of the excitement, and it’s the most racing fun I’ve had in ages.
IGN (Oct 09, 2019)
It’s more streamlined than the original in terms of team management and it’s definitely way too lean on tracks, but Grid packs fun, fast-paced racing into an easy-to-digest format. Sure, it’s unrealistic for the final race to be Prototypes jumping up and down San Francisco’s iconic hills, but Grid isn’t trying to be a realistic facsimile of modern racing. Hell, with throngs of spectators dangling over the Armco, if Grid were realistic the tracks would just be a sea of severed hands and heads. Instead, it’s a hyperbolic brand of high-contact, Hollywood-style circuit and street racing delivered with style and confidence.

PlayStation Universe (Aug 08, 2019)
With absolutely nothing new to bring to the table except the pointless 'Nemesis' feature, GRID treads water in spectacular fashion. It looks and sounds amazing, and plays like an arcade game which has aspirations to be a simulator, but with no realistic car damage to penalise reckless driving, it becomes a long drawn out affair.
Game Informer Magazine (Oct 08, 2019)
This reboot from Codemasters lacks the ambition that a good racer needs to get to the front.
Video Chums (Oct 08, 2019)
Motorsport fans will have fun with this reboot, especially if they are looking to race some popular vehicles on well-known real-life circuits. However, the poor quality graphics, lack of local multiplayer, and limited appeal of the Nemesis system makes it harder to recommend.
Way Too Many Games (Oct 17, 2019)
In the end what you have is a racer that plays amazingly, but has no content, cars, or tracks. It’s still lots of fun at times, and the new crowd system that makes reactions more realistic do make races feel more vibrant. It just wears out it’s welcome far too quickly and doesn’t provide any reason to keep playing past a certain point. I feel that it needed a few more months in development, and was pushed out the door far too early. Maybe there’s strong post launch support coming, but as it stands I would have much rather have gotten a simple GRID Autosport port like the Switch’s than this.
