God is a Geek (Oct 05, 2017)
Everything about this game outdoes the first, and with the expanded Nemesis System, superb combat, and epic story, you'll be immersed for a long time.

Monolith Productions improves on the original and presents a thrilling action/adventure about the nature of power.

“Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is a fantastic follow-up to its highly acclaimed 2014 predecessor and rightfully cements its legacy as one of this year’s best entries.”

GamesRadar (Oct 05, 2017)
A huge Lord of the Rings experience that’s always enjoyable, although its scale leaves it straining at the seams at times.

Critical Hit (Oct 05, 2017)
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is Lord of the Rings turned up to 11. Improving on nearly every idea from the original Shadow of Mordor game, it’s a gargantuan sequel in both size and scope.

IGN (Oct 05, 2017)
Similar to the way Batman: Arkham City built on the foundation of Arkham Asylum, Middle-earth: Shadow of War is bigger and more ambitious in scope than Shadow of Mordor, with great results. The way it expands the Nemesis system with far greater variety and fortress sieges makes even better use of the stand-out generated characters, and its battles with memorable uruk captains remain challenging all the way through the campaign and into the clever asynchronous multiplayer beyond.

Way Too Many Games (Oct 27, 2017)
Ultimately, Middle Earth: Shadow of War is an incredibly fun game and, if you liked the first and can overlook that this is basically Lord of the Rings fanfiction, you’ll absolutely love this one. It truly is a worthy sequel in nearly every way. But don’t expect to come back to the game a whole lot after you’ve tired of sieges. When you grow bored of those then there’s very little else to do. Unless you’re a completionist, in which case more power to you.

Video Chums (Oct 18, 2017)
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is a sprawling action-filled epic adventure with a compelling story and a living, breathing world that creates real consequences for your actions and failures. Its post-game Shadow Wars content is understandably polarizing but that shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying the core experience.

USgamer (Oct 05, 2017)
Shadow of War is much bigger than its predecessor, offering more orcs, more gear, more to conquer, and your very own orc army. It's a massive game with so much to do that it can feel like a bit of a grind later in the game. Likewise, the loot box mechanic interfaces with army upkeep in a way that feels less than satisfying. Shadow of War is still a great game, but there's a linger corruption that keeps it from perfection.

Sonuç olarak Shadow of War, önceki oyunu olan Shadow of Mordor'u başarılı yapan öğeleri geliştirerek karşımıza çıkıyor.

Trusted Reviews (Oct 13, 2017)
It’s hard work following a sleeper hit, and at times Shadow of War looks like it’s trying to do too much over too wide an area for a bit too long. Its storylines run the gamut from deftly handled through to daft, and ludicrous liberties are taken with Tolkien’s characters and lore. All the same, none of this matters because Shadow of War doubles down on everything that was already brilliant in Shadow of Mordor for a good 30-40 hours of stupidly absorbing stealth, action and warfare. Try to deny its gung-ho, orc-slaying power if you want, but you’ll have more luck resisting Sauron with the One Ring than Monolith’s battle-crazed Middle-earth monster.

MAN!AC (Oct 05, 2017)

Polygon (Oct 05, 2017)
If you can get past the microtransactions, Shadow Wars seems set to provide a much meatier extended playtime than Shadow of Mordor ever offered. But more than anything, that’s my biggest disappointment with Middle-earth: Shadow of War: Everything about it seems to come with a caveat, some small annoyance or two that you need to dig past to get to the still-very-fun game underneath. The Nemesis System is still a wonder that has yet to be replicated. The movement and combat are thrilling.

Playground.ru (Oct 09, 2017)

Destructoid (Oct 11, 2017)
Middle-earth: Shadow of War has a lot of fluff that attempts to sabotage it, but it succeeds in its effort to make its hollow and silly world worth roaming around and killing things in. Although I wasn't enthralled by the absurd story beats that try to dance around telling an actual epic and somber tale, the ability to create my own stories with an expanded level of depth was more than sufficient to call this a step up.

GameSpot (Oct 06, 2017)
And that addition sums up several of Shadow of War's additions--things like the storefront and the menus and loot system don't make the game terrible, it just would've been better without them. It tries to be larger than its predecessor, there are more abilities, more weapons, more Orcs, yet it leaves you wanting less. But at its core, it's a fun experience with brilliant moments that provide fascinating insight into some of the untold stories of Middle-earth. I just wish it had known when to stop.

This sequel expands on the vaunted Nemesis system in wildly entertaining ways, even as it falls short around the edges.

Shadow of War looks gorgeous, as you would expect a AAA-blockbuster to do. It plays incredibly smoothly, and as far as open world games go, this one’s relatively bug free. This is all to be expected for a game with this kind of budget, and doesn't really warrant a comment in the context of a review. But the whole experience feels so utterly soulless it’s hard to really care about any of it. It feels like a game that has been carefully pieced together with every feature, bit of narrative and gameplay moment structured out of commercial desire, rather than any love or respect for the Lord of the Rings franchise. And as far as I'm concerned, for a game that's quite explicitly a Lord of the Rings game, that's a fail.
