Unlike its predecessor (Army Men 3D), Army Men Air Attack is a smooth looking game with a lot of fulfilled potential. It brings the air aspect of the Army Men universe into play, and creates a for more intriguing aspect for players who simply wanted more out of the Army Men series. It's not the end all be all, but it's straightforward fun and should by no means be over-looked this holiday.

While Army Men Air Attack helped pass by a few spare hours I much preferred the ground warfare of the original game. Stealth is what action games are all about these days and blindly flying headfirst into an enemy base is just asking for trouble. What it all boils down to is that Air Attack is a pure arcade shooter. It's fast. It's furious. It packs a punch. It's brawn without brains!

3DO has been milking the whole concept of little plastic army men as real-life soldiers for quite some time now. The PC has seen a couple of Army Men strategy games, while the console systems have received some weak games, such as Army Men 3D and Army Men: Sarge's Heroes. But you shouldn't give up on the Army Men series just yet. Army Men: Air Attack is a mission-based helicopter shooter that actually makes the little green guys fun to play with again.

Desert Strike meets Toy Story meets Micro Machines.

In the end Army Men: Air Attack seemed like a good game but it fails in my opinion. It doesn't feature enough variety to keep me or the average gamer going. Although it features nice graphics and the overall game doesn't deliver what I hoped it would. Maybe only worth a rental if you will.

Ever wanted to take Army Men and fly them around, gunning down your enemies in super-powerful choppers? Too bad, because 3DO already has a game like that, and it's ready for you.

Air Attack game reminds me of a whimsical version of Desert Strike, but it does get a bit repetitious. At least there's a nice two-player split screen mode that lets you and a buddy compete or cooperate together. There's nothing wrong with Air Attack, but it's nothing special either.
