Trivia
Game budget
Total budget of the game was 850 000 dollars
Cut content
Originally, developers of Twisted Metal recorded live action endings for each character. However, as development was wrapping up, some religious developers threatened to leave the project if the game was released with those videos. The primary reason being not the campiness or violence, but the presence of scantly clad women. Due to the importance of these employees, a decision was made to cut the videos and implement comic-style endings.
Those videos were later added as additional content in the PS2 game Twisted Metal: Head-On - Extra Twisted Edition.
Working titles
The game was originally called High Octane, but this was changed due to Bullfrog's game Hi-Octane. The next suggestion was Urban Assault until it finally was named Twisted Metal.
