Description
After many versions developed by
Realms of Fantasy and
Dinamic Multimedia, when
Gremlin was acquired and then disbanded, it seemed this long-running series were about to end, but in 2002
ZOO Digital announced the return.
Featuring five nations (England with three leagues and Germany, Spain, France and Italy with two), PM takes a new approach to the series, not much different from the classic
Match Day Manager. Each day has several time slots (from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) which your secretary can fill with appointments with other staff members, the chairman or players in order to discuss contracts and other working orders. While you can act freely between time slots, most actions can only be completed after a meeting with the staff.
As usual with managers with less detailed databases (those who don't allow to manage in the Estonian second division while tapping the youth pool in Taiwan), the player is also in control of setting ticket prices (and stadium building), advertising and website (which increases the value of the club, and lead to higher merchandise sales) and manage staff.
All staff conversations and player information screens are presented in full 3D, as well as the match engine. The news screen is based on real-life sports news TV channel EurosportNews.

Trivia
As part of ZOO Digital's campaign, they announced some of the staff from the late
Sheffield House (aka Gremlin) would be signed to develop this title. Perhaps the most visible part of it is how some of the player models and textures, as well as the generic club badges were re-used from
UEFA Challenge.
