Primal Carnage: Extinction is a class based multiplayer game featuring man versus dinosaur battles with players commanding both sides. Originally planned as a free update to its predecessor, it now serves as the sequel to the 2012 game Primal Carnage and it was created by a new development team.
This game is on a lot of fronts the same as the first one, only different for certain aspects. The game features the same dinosaur classes as the original and only the skins are different: Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spinosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Carnotaurus, Pteranodon and the non-existing species Novaraptor. Human classes are also the same and include the Trapper, Commando, Scientist, Pathfinder and Pyromaniac. The human classes did get new weapons and a loadout system is now in effect instead of only being able to use one set.
The game includes all maps of the first game and its updates, and the map rotation is strengthened by three new maps: Transfer, Verdant, and Contingency. All game modes from the last game are also available here, including the 'Get to the Chopper' mode later added through an update to the Primal Carnage.
The game is more supported through Steam than its predecessor, having tradeable human skins, dinosaur skins, weapon skins, and hats and accessories for both human and dinosaur characters.
