IC-Games (Sep 06, 2004)
Ultimately, this is a tricky game to score. Personally it’s not for me, not for my ability or my needs (and they’re both pretty low I can assure you.) However, I think it is right for a certain section of the population, particularly one that have such a limited attention span and can’t have full priced games lavished on them constantly. The booming retro market has shown there is a place for everything if you can only withstand the advertising onslaught.
Gamers Europe (Sep 16, 2004)
Formula Challenge is a game of disturbing contrast and it’s hard to know where it lies. In short bursts it’s a lot of fun and its value to drunken students is immeasurable, but the poor graphics and overall haphazard gameplay leaves a lot to be desired.
Console Obsession (May 31, 2010)
Formula Challenge may not be the worst game we’ve played but it damn sure is a long way from being the best. The £15 price tag seems a little too high for the quality of the game, and much better value can be found for slightly less cash. Kids who don’t know any better may get some enjoyment out of it, for anyone else we can’t recommend this one at all.

So is Formula Challenge the compelling, heart-stopping, authentic homage to the pinnacle of motor sport that the box says it is? – No don’t be daft, haven’t you been reading? For want of a better word it’s awful, and you’d have to be a racing game completist or mentally ‘challenged’ to buy it.
