Gamezilla (Mar 21, 2001)
While there have been lots of games released so far for the PS2, very few show off the system as well as Sky Odyssey. Add in some game action that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat and you've got a combination that's hard to beat. With gameplay ranging from the epic Adventure mode to precision target flying and Free Flight modes this one's got something for everyone. The stunning 3D worlds will knock your socks off, and the mix of aircraft will keep you coming back for more. Sky Odyssey is remarkable -- every PlayStation 2 owner should rush out to grab this one. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
Gamer's Pulse (Apr 03, 2001)
Flight sim fans that have access to a PlayStation 2 should check out this title, as there is currently no flight sim out there for the PlayStation 2 that offers both this realistic quality and adventurous nature.
IGN (Nov 16, 2000)
Just wait until you have to fly your airplane through some dark and winding caves at high speeds, or up and over a steep waterfall, or down some roaring rapids after your engine has been destroyed, or into a snowstorm with gusty winds to drop off supplies, and you'll understand exactly what I mean. This game is pretty intense and players will likely be on edge throughout each of the various missions that can last well over 10 minutes and come to an end at any moment with one sloppy move. Sky Odyssey is an amazing game and if you're one of the lucky people that have been able to get a hold of a PlayStation 2, you really ought to treat yourself to one of this year's most impressive software titles by buying this epic flight adventure. You won't be disappointed.
PSX Extreme (Dec 01, 2000)
Sky Odyssey has been out for about two weeks now, (sorry about the delay folks) and it should be available in your retailer for $49.99, which means that you need to crack open that piggy bank and cough up that dough to the cashier, 'cause Sky Odyssey is a game worth every penny of what you are willing to spend on it. While the game may not boast the best visuals, the addictive gameplay is what this game is all about and believe me this games got a lot of it. The uplifting soundtrack is something to appreciate and the crisp controls trully make Sky Odyssey a must have videogame for all of you PS2 owners out there.
Power Unlimited (Jun, 2001)
GameSpot (Nov 21, 2000)
Sky Odyssey is not a game for everyone - the slow-paced missions and the flight simulation influences will turn away those looking for pure arcade action. But those that are willing to overlook the game's graphical imperfections and can grapple with its relatively steep learning curve will be rewarded with a fully satisfying game experience.

Sky Odyssey is not for everyone, as its pace is decidedly laidback and learning curve decidedly tough. But there are a good number of gamers out there who will appreciate what the title has to offer, and simply because it has kept a low profile, that's no reason to pass this great game over.
So in the end, I’m gonna have to say Sky Odyssey is a good game, but I think its charm comes from the fact that it uses some of the nice environment effects the PS2 has to offer. In a year I will look back on this game and think it’s crap, but for now it’s fun to fly the friendly skies.

PlanetPS2 (Feb 12, 2001)
This game is not for everyone. If you enjoyed games like Pilotwings, you will either love or hate this game. Other gamers may find it interesting for a while, but it is definitely nothing to lose sleep over.
PSM (Jan, 2001)
Part flight simulator, part arcade game, Sky Odyssey might not push the PS2 hardware very much but it does provide a refreshing change of pace from the combat-heavy Ace Combat series. Sky Odyssey is very much a "concept game" that will provide plenty of fun for flight sim fans, but not knock their socks off. Most gamers will still want to try before they buy.
Gamekult (Apr 23, 2001)
GamePro (US) (Dec 20, 2000)
The sky's the limit in this unfulfilling, poorly developed flyer that doesn't even deserve to be released on the PS2. In Sky Odyssey, you'll fly 11 aircraft (eight hidden), including a biplane, and Autogyro, a stealth plane, and a UFO on missions that range from finding ancient ruins deep in canyons to rescuing a hot air balloon.
Gamezone (Germany) (Apr 26, 2001)
