I can't stress this enough, Time Crisis 2 is one of the best action titles you can get for your money. For a mere $60 you can get both the GunCon 2 and the game. With arcade enhanced visuals, timeless gameplay, and fantastic replay value, Time Crisis 2 is one of the year's must have games. Those who are looking for a game that will last for quite some time, and features addictive gameplay, owe it to themselves to go and buy Time Crisis 2. You won't regret doing so!
GamePro (US) (Oct 02, 2001)
TC2 carries over beautifully onto the PS2, delivering a thrilling test of reflexes and aim. Granted, it?s a very short game that certainly won?t mesmerize you for weeks, but the value of its multiplayer side as a killer party game makes it a very worthy addition to your PS2 library.

The minigames here aren't much, consisting of target practice and skeet shooting. The arcade mode has plenty to do, though, including speedboating and train riding. The thrills don't last long, but they still place Time Crisis 2 at the top of the console gun game food chain, especially with the Guncon 2.
PSM (Oct, 2001)
The variety of action is second to none, the graphics are stunning, and even the minigames are lots of fun. Though the game can seem overly difficult on its default setting, this thankfully doesn't keep it from being loads of fun. If you love lightgun shooters, this is one you've simply got to have.
PGNx Media (Oct 21, 2002)
Time Crisis 2 is a very replayable, good-looking/sounding, ludicrously fun shooter that will keep you coming back for more even if you have beat it 50 times. Light gun fans should definitely buy this game, and gamers eager to sit down with a friend and blast your way through hundreds of armed thugs, eat your heart out.

Essentially a coin-op title, the three stages do go by quickly if you know what you’re doing. And while the extra modes do add some enjoyment, they can only go so far. However, the fact is simple: Time Crisis II remains a classic when carried over to the PlayStation 2 and will be a solid experience for any gamer given the use of the GunCon over a Dual Shock. Namco’s positive decision to include the slick GunCon 2 with the game at a very pleasing price should make gamers pull the trigger into buying it. Just don’t shoot your eye out, though.

Koska harvojen kohdalla edellä mainitut kriteerit jäävät toteutumatta, on Time Crisis 2 liian kallis ja lyhyt peli ostettavaksi.

Aren't guns supposed to cover for male inadequacies elsewhere? So how come PS2 gun games have a problem with length?! I loved the training exercises, but as soon as the juices were flowing, it was all over. TC 2's close enemies and 360° action distinguish it from both Silent Scopes, even if being a short port doesn't.
Game Revolution (Oct, 2001)
But again, it won't be a very long experience. I really wish this game took longer, maybe a few extra levels or something. As it stands, it's way too short. But if your trigger finger is lookin' for a good time, grab a copy of Time Crisis 2. It's got everything you're looking for in an arcade shooter and more. Just don't expect it to last forever.
GameSpot (Oct 04, 2001)
All things considered, Time Crisis II is a whole lot more fun than a console port of a three-year-old arcade game should be. Fans of the arcade version will not be disappointed, and anyone else looking for some simple, visceral action would do well by checking out Time Crisis II.

It's all over far too soon though, and before long it's not going to command your attention for more than half an hour at a time. It may look okay, but it's not an exceptionally detailed game, and it certainly could have been. It's not a 60Hz game, either. Bring me the head of the man responsible. Those things said, people will still find reasons to buy Time Crisis 2. There is still nothing quite like the feeling of diving out of cover with two guns at the ready, and everyone has at least a few double-handed shootout fantasies to fulfil. The bottom line is that this is the best lightgun game on any system at the moment, it's just that lightgun games are pretty darned shallow. If you want something with a prolonged narrative and want to take a new experience away from every sitting, this isn't for you. But if you like lightgun games and £50 isn't too much for a game you may only dip into for the odd hour here and there, you could do a lot worse. It will certainly impress your mates.

On s'y amuse énormément.
The Video Game Critic (Jan 13, 2002)
Time Crisis 2 is fun while it lasts, but like most light gun games, it isn't particularly long and the action wears thin after repeated plays. There are a few mini-games thrown in, but nothing with lasting replay value. Overall, Time Crisis 2 is just as good as the arcade, but nothing special outside of that.
Trist.
Gameplanet (Nov 15, 2001)
What Namco have done with Time Crisis 2 is admirable, as they have taken a game which was originally released in arcades in 1998 and improved it so it can measure up to modern console titles. With the addition of the mini games and varying difficulty levels the developers have made sure this sequel is better value for money than the original, however some gamers might shy away from purchasing a light gun game because of the lack of overall support for the genre.
