So…don't play it if you're looking solely for games you can play while relaxing before bed, I guess? Because otherwise, there's absolutely no reason not to download Bit.Trip Presents…Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien immediately. It's just that great.
IGN (Feb 25, 2013)
BIT.TRIP Presents Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is a music game that doesn't bother with instruments. You won't find any plastic guitars, drum sets, or even a turntable. You can't form a band, there's no audience, and you certainly won't be yelling at your buddies for screwing up the guitar solo. And yet, it's one of the finest music games ever made.
Digital Chumps (Mar 14, 2013)
Bit.Trip Presents...Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is the best of several worlds. It's a both a Platformer that prefers pure reaction over trial and error memorization and a Runner reaching for complexity beyond a simple endless marathon. Surprisingly, Runner2 is also an accomplished rhythm game and one hell of a weird visual experience, should you choose to pay close enough attention. From any of its angle, Runner2 merits interest and appreciation.

Overall, Runner 2 is a great step up for the Bit.Trip series. It’s addicting to play and has the difficulty/reward factor down. Definitely check it out if you’re a fan of platformers or runner-type games.
3D Juegos (Mar 06, 2013)
Cheat Code Central (Mar, 2013)
But anyone who's played BIT.TRIP before knows it ain't easy. In fact, for the series' hardcore fans, the high difficulty, unforgiving stage design, and refusal to provide frequent checkpoints are all part of the fun. And if that's fun for you, Runner2 will be fun indeed.
If you stick with the original runner or his female counterpart, don’t mind a bit of iffy 70s-throwback art, and can forgive the repetitious level backgrounds, the actual running/jumping/sliding gameplay rapidly gets under the skin, demanding more and better play. Miss a single gold in a long line of complicated jumps? You’d better believe that’s a quick suicide and a retry, no matter how controller-shatteringly frustrating the learning experience has been so far. Thankfully, a crazy hard level is usually followed by something a bit more reasonable, and if you’re utterly stuck, there’s no penalty for dropping down a difficulty level just to get past a particularly troublesome spot. Other than that creeping sense of failure that pushes you to go back and try again, that is.
Push Square (Mar 14, 2013)
BIT.TRIP Presents: Runner 2 - Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is a game packed with many highs and few lows. While downloadable titles are renowned for their limited staying power, we can see ourselves sprinting back to this one for more. Yes, it can be frustrating at times, but it’s been a long while since we’ve felt a true sense of accomplishment for getting things right.
Gameplay (Benelux) (Mar 29, 2013)
