Gaming Age (Dec 08, 2014)
Yeah, you’ll still have to wade through that sluggish Roxas opening of Kingdom Hearts II, but past that point you’ll have a very enjoyable, and visually stunning, reunion with Sora, Goofy, Donald, Terra, Aqua and Ventus. So I’d certainly urge all of you Kingdom Hearts fans to pick this up, as it does HD justice to two beloved games in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
Game Informer Magazine (Dec 01, 2014)
Kingdom Hearts II and Birth By Sleep offer an incredible amount of quality gameplay. If you’re feeling nostalgic or running through for the first time, there’s a ton of meat to sink your teeth into that can easily last well into the new year.
Hobby Consolas (Dec 01, 2014)
The first HD collection suffered from a poor selection of games, but that’s not the case in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix. You’re not only getting two of the best games in the franchise, but extra content including special boss battles that was previously unavailable outside of Japan. While Re:coded is easily the weakest link in the chain, a cinematic retelling with new footage is the best way to experience its story. The HD treatment, sans the lack of 60fps support, is excellent, and the new musical arrangements are stellar. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix is a superb effort that delivers some of the best games the series has to offer, and reminds us why we’re still excited for what lies in store in the next chapter of the franchise.
PSX-Sense (Dec 19, 2014)

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix is a great way to whet your appetite during the long wait for Kingdom Hearts 3, or to learn why so many of your fellow gamers are anticipating it so impatiently. It contains the best versions of two of the best games in the series, with upgraded visuals, music, and some really entertaining high-level challenges. Despite Re:coded’s failure to make the series’ overarching story comprehensible, this package is a great celebration of what can happen when two completely unrelated, but equally beloved things merge together.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix is a fantastic compilation containing the two best games in the franchise. Both Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Final Mix manage to stave off the feeling of old age, something that the games in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix could not. From a pure value perspective, you can’t go wrong with this collection that could serve you anywhere between 50-60 hours, and even more if you’re a completionist. More visual improvements would have be nice, especially in Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Final Mix, but the package as a whole is good enough to make the visuals seem like an afterthought.
Like the 1.5 Remix before it, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix is a great deal for franchise fans looking to consolidate the platform-spanning series under one roof and on as few discs as possible. The narrative quality is questionable, at least when viewed through a modern lens, but the charm and novelty still ring true, as does the series? pioneering action-RPG combat.
LevelUp (Dec 01, 2014)
Girl Gamers UK (Dec 19, 2014)
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX may have its issues, but they are all issues with the original games. Here, in this HD remake compilation, players will be able to continue their Kingdom Hearts adventure with two of the best games in the series, all packaged onto one console in the most complete form possible. Playing this will not only set the player up for Kingdom Hearts III, but also provide many hours of enjoyable entertainment. For the fans, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is an essential purchase.
