Overall, Prison Break: The Conspiracy is a very well made game, however certain elements feel forced and contrived. Personally, I would have preferred to play Michael Schofield as opposed to Paxton who feels too fake and pushed into the franchise as a way for the gamer to interact. It is interesting that the original story of the Schofield brothers continues in the background as Paxton’s story crosses over with this one which does create a good link. However, for me, the gameplay is missing something and if they threw in some more memorable gaming moments into the game, this would have been a better experience which is a shame for such a good looking title.

There are very few licensed games that have been able to live up to expectations of the movie/TV show/comic book/novel counterpart. While there is indeed so much to look forward to with Prison Break: The Conspiracy, it just seems there wasn’t enough time and money in the budget to make this an experience that’s truly worthy of the hit series. On its own, it’s a solid gaming experience worth playing.

It isn't easy to take on a videogame spinoff of a primetime TV series, and Prison Break: The Conspiracy is another example of why. Mediocre graphics, plenty of problems in its gameplay, a lack of realism, and only a semi-interesting side story all make this yet another failed experiment at the TV-game crossover. Fans of the series who would like to revisit Fox River and see the first season through another perspective may want to rent this title, but anyone else would be wise to leave it be.
Spazio Games (Mar 28, 2010)

I'm not a fan of the Prison Break video game and it's hard to believe anyone could be. Licensed games can get away with a lot, but this doesn't even reach mediocre quality, with its core mechanics becoming woefully boring a fraction into the campaign. Without any gloss to paint over the rough stealth gameplay, there's really nothing here to recommend. Avoid like it's the soap dropped in the communal shower.

And really, you’ve got to feel sorry for ZootFly. It must have been a tough ride. Let’s hope there are enough obsessive Wentworth Miller fans to shift this trivial oddity off the shelves, so their struggle, in some small way, is justified.

I had really high hopes for this game when I heard it was going to be released. In the end I'm left rather disappointed with the execution of a game which could have been something great. Poor gameplay combined with poor AI make this game frustrating and exhausting. If you've never seen the TV series there is no reason to purchase this game and if you have, there's still no reason to purchase it. I do suggest if you enjoyed Prison Break on TV that you rent this game purely for that Prison Break fever, and not because you're expecting it to be any good.
IGN (Mar 23, 2010)
The events of Prison Break: The Conspiracy run concurrently with those of the series’ first season. It’s outcome is the same – they escape – and it doesn’t reveal anything that will please fans or cast new light on the show’s characters or plot lines. If you’re an absolute Prison Break diehard, don’t buy this game – steal a copy instead, surrender yourself to the police and then get sent to an actual jail – because serving a real sentence couldn’t possibly be harder time than this.
Worth Playing (Apr 13, 2010)
I'll sum it up with a slew of puns: Prison Break: The Conspiracy is more like Prison Broken. It's definitely one game you'll want to escape from. Break free of the temptation to pick it up, and shank anyone who suggests you do.

Game Watcher (Mar 29, 2010)
And that's about all that we're prepared to say about Prison Break: The Conspiracy – a lazily cobbled-together, bargain basement piece of shovelware that deserves neither your time or money. While it's a 10/10 for laughs that never get old, The Conspiracy is funny for all the wrong reasons and should therefore be avoided at all costs. In fact, compared to this, a long stretch in the slammer suddenly doesn't seem so bad.
AceGamez (Mar 31, 2010)
With the show now a thing of the past and the undoubtedly far superior Splinter Cell: Conviction just around the corner, it’s hard to see how Prison Break: The Conspiracy will make any kind of impact on the charts. Maybe if it had a modicum of quality – I mean you would think that the extra development time provided by the wait for a new publisher might have led to a more polished, refined experience, sadly, just as in the case with nearly every other primetime TV tie-in, Prison Break: The Conspiracy is little more than a rushed, poorly developed title with very little in the way of a saving grace.
GameSpot (Apr 13, 2010)
There is also an offline-only Versus mode in The Conspiracy, pitting you against a friend in first-to-three fights, but this is every bit as lackluster as the single-player combat. The controls are stiff and unresponsive, and the iffy collision detection further hampers any chance of enjoyment. It's extremely difficult to line up a punch correctly, making this novelty good for no more than one attempt. It's even more difficult to try to find a way to enjoy this game. With unsatisfying stealth, puzzling logic, and simple-minded combat, there is almost nothing in Prison Break that is actually fun. That the lock-picking minigame is the highlight just shows how lousy the other aspects truly are in this game. People who have never watched the show should stay far away, but fans should stay even further away. Playing the Conspiracy can only tarnish your memories of the source material.
Level 7 (Apr 06, 2010)

Prison Break: The Conspiracy burde aldri blitt en realitet.

Just… just don’t buy it, please. It’s only been out for a couple of weeks and it’s already getting heavily discounted by some retailers – and there’s a whole bunch of reasons for that. I don’t care if you’re a fan of the show, it’s just not worth it. It’s a lazy, cynical, low-budget cash-in for a TV show that hasn’t been relevant or interesting for years, and there is no reason for it to exist aside from hoovering a bit of cash out of the wallets of easily-swayed idiots. You’d be better off picking up a bar of soap than this crap.
