Meristation (Feb 13, 2009)

Shellshock 2 is a budget title and it shows. The visuals, level design, AI, and just about anything else you can think of can't match up with the top-tier first-person shooters. On top of that, you only get 10 brief stages and no multiplayer options. This attempt at a Vietnam, zombie thriller is about as bad as that concept sounds on paper.
GameSpot (Mar 12, 2009)
Chances are good that you won't hate ShellShock 2: Blood Trails. But odds are also high that you won't particularly enjoy it, either, due to the frustrating controls and the forgettable game design. Even if you're interested in the Vietnam War and have a zombie fetish, you can likely find a better use for your money.
UOL Jogos (Mar 19, 2009)

Somewhat ironically, the original Shellshock Nam '67 from Eidos was developed by Guerrilla Games, which, as pretty much everyone now knows, has gone on to more than redeem itself of past indiscretions with the truly excellent Killzone 2. Rebellion, on the other hand, is yet to rise above largely forgettable prior offerings such as Rogue Trooper, Miami Vice and Alien vs. Predator: Requiem. Sadly, Rebellion's staid middle-of-the-road performance continues with Shellshock 2: Blood Trails, which, although not unequivocally broken, is so thoroughly unappealing and 'last generation' that it's all-but guaranteed a well-deserved place amid the lower echelons of gaming mediocrity.
If you are looking for a shooter, you would be much better served picking up one from the multitude of better shooters that are already available. There are plenty of better options out there, no matter what your system of choice may be. With its iffy gunplay, often frustrating gameplay, linear level design, short completion time (four to six hours max), clichéd and uninteresting story, and complete lack of multiplayer, only the most desperate of players should attempt to squeeze any enjoyment out of this lemon. While I would've loved to have played a great survival horror/ shooter based around the Vietnam War, Shellshock 2 simply felt like it hadn't quite fully ripened yet.

Without any multiplayer to speak of the single-player campaign is all there is to consider when wondering whether to hand over your cash. To put it simply: do not buy this game. Had this been released five years ago it would still have stood out as a poorly made FPS, so released into a market with the likes of Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 sitting pretty on store shelves, and Killzone 2 due any day now, it's hard to see any reason to add this to your collection.
PlayStation Universe (Feb 17, 2009)
Shellshock 2 really goes downhill after the first level. It starts off being like a cross between Wolfenstein and F.E.A.R., and lures you into the premise that it will be a exciting psychological experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat. However, it falls short of making the grade that you'd expect from any PS3 first person shooter. From the lackluster audio and uninspiring visuals, right through to technical issues, such as the weapon targeting and A.I., Shellshock 2 is certainly shocking in many respects, but not in a good way. Steer clear of this stinker.
Thunderbolt Games (Aug 02, 2009)
Ultimately, it’s difficult to find anything positive to say about Shellshock 2. As a half-way point between two busy and successful genres it’s up against some tremendous competition, and given that it can’t get either the basic horror elements right, nor create a compelling shooting engine, it really has nothing going for it. Avoid like you would a vicious infection.
Boomtown (Mar 25, 2009)
Shellshock 2 is truly a bad game. It's short, it's ugly and it's uninspiring. Just what Rebellion was thinking before releasing this travesty is beyond me, because it doesn't have a leg to stand on in comparison to most PS2 FPSs, let alone anything the current-gen consoles have to offer. Leave this one alone.
Teletext (2009)
The Vietnam War has never seemed so horrific in this shockingly poor first person shooter.
