Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is definitely the best Spider-Man game to date and it is steeped in Spider-Man lore from four unique universes in the history of the comic books. While many games in the past have disappointed, players looking for the definitive Spider-Man experience needn't look further than Shattered Dimensions. With any amount of luck, Beenox will return to this concept again and explore more Spider-Man universes and unique villains.

While this isn't going down in history as a revolution in comic book video games - there are few that even could - I feel that Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is the best Spidey game to date. It keeps things fresh with the four versions of our hero, but doesn't confuse people with entirely different move sets or control schemes. The bosses and villains you fight are interesting and have some real personality due to some great voice acting, and the four Spideys are voiced very well, too. While this doesn't quite have the shotgun approach to mixing in as many Marvel characters as possible, the gameplay is much better than in past games and the classic conflicts shine through better. Even if you're not a huge comic book or Spider-Man fan, you could do a hell of a lot worse than to grab Shattered Dimensions and play through it before the "real" fall season of game releases starts.
GameZ (Sep 10, 2010)
Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions is een verrassend goede game.
InsightBits (Sep 19, 2010)
At the end of the day, what separates Spider Man Shattered Dimensions from something truly epic like Batman Arkham Asylum is a strongly directed storyline that holds everything together. Instead, due to the different chapters, Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions feels more like a season rather than a movie. But as a fan of Spider-Man, I had a thoroughly enjoyable time with this game and would easily recommend this to other fans of the web slinging super hero.

The final call on Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions is that it’s one of the most solid Spidey titles to date. There isn’t really anything about this game that will knock you over, but it never really falls flat either. The game is just solid all the way around.
IGN (Sep 07, 2010)
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions has a lot of great things going for it. Some of the levels and boss battles are phenomenal. Beenox took a lot of chances with this game, most of which paid off in something unique and refreshing. Some old issues (bad camera, repetitive combat) still haven't been completely solved, but the good far outweighs the bad. Spidey fans should definitely pick this one up.
Spazio Games (Sep 16, 2010)

GameSpot (Sep 23, 2010)
But if you're going to steal, steal from the best, and the Noir dimension definitely has some sneaky appeal, part of which is fueled by the excellent art design that brings every universe to life in a unique and vibrant way. The lively visuals and diverse gameplay help keep Shattered Dimensions moving along at a good pace, and you'll likely finish just shy of the 10-hour mark, having enjoyed your journey. After all, it's a lot of fun to feel like a superhero, and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions creates this feeling very well. Small frustrations aside, this is not only a great Spider-Man game, it's also an entertaining action game that anyone with a penchant for superpowers can enjoy
Digital Chumps (Sep 08, 2010)
This is one of the better and more interesting Spider-Man games I've played to date. While still shy of greatness, it's definitely worth a look for Spidey fans or anyone who enjoys third person action. For most, a rental will likely suffice due to the relatively brief campaign and lack of additional content.
74 (Nov 21, 2010)
The gameplay isn't innovative or deep enough to talk about a top game, but this new Spider-Man is fun and a very nice go-between that will deliver plenty of fun nights for the fans of the series. The action is fast, tight and smooth, the atmosphere and graphics make that you remain in the story and the many upgrades, moves and slinging possibilities make for plenty of content. In a game where you get into four suits and dimensions of your favorite hero, however, it's too bad that there isn't more variation and originality to be found. For those that feel like a lightfooted action game with the necessary bosses, however, this is the necessary junkfood.
Factornews (Oct 19, 2010)
Worth Playing (Sep 19, 2010)
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is a flawed experience. When it hits the mark, it hits hard, and it manages to capture a lot of the charm and fun of playing as Spider-Man. Unfortunately, this charm and fun is soured by the repetitive and unimaginative gameplay and the number of glitches. The constant comparisons to Arkham Asylum only hurt the game, as Shattered Dimensions isn't as well-made or polished as its Batman counterpart. Spider-Man die-hards will find a lot to like in this fun game, although its short length means they may want to consider a rental instead. More casual fans may want to hold off, as a love of Spider-Man is really necessary to overlook the game's other problems.
70 (UK) (Sep 08, 2010)
Its best ideas may be borrowed, and it tends to repeat itself fairly regularly, but Beenox's latest is still a generous and witty button-basher. Shattered Dimensions isn't going to be cropping up on any Game of the Year lists, I'm guessing, but it's nice to see Spidey's caretakers finally showing a bit of ambition. Any true believers left out there can file this one under "pleasant surprise".

ider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is zonder twijfel de beste Spider-Man-titel sinds Spider Man 2.
Slick visuals, a witty script, and a memorable tour of Spider-Man’s compelling rogues gallery are ultimately undone by dreary pacing and a pervading sense that Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions remains sadly unfinished.
Video Game Talk (Sep 27, 2010)
In all, while Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is not a perfect game, it does carry a satisfying Spider-Man punch to it, both in the gameplay and the writing. Heck, Stan Lee even narrates the proceedings. A more light-hearted outing than several previous titles, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is worth your time if you consider yourself a webhead.
Thunderbolt Games (Nov 15, 2010)
This puts the game’s replay value in great question. With depth not on the list, the only other reasons to replay the game would be to revisit levels after powering up, catch up on challenges, try hard mode, and working combos as a mirror for trying on pieces from the secret wardrobe collection. Therefore, hardcore fans looking for new foodstuff to sate the hunger for web slinging would be much obliged to save this title from the dreary fate of dust collecting. Otherwise, for non-webheads, please be advised that though the action comes in four flavors it may be an endeavor that calls for an acquired taste.

That Gaming Site (Sep 20, 2010)
It looks good and sounds good, but aside from Noir levels it plays horribly. Frantic controls, poor response time and a shaky camera ruin most of the fun except for repetitive brawling. Noir is clear and concise...and a complete rip-off of Arkham Asylum.
The Game Hoard (Jul 16, 2020)
Glitchy in parts and bland during most of its basic battles, Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions relies mostly on its creative boss fights and Spider-Man Noir’s stealth stages to stay afloat. Three of the four Spider-Men are too similar to sustain the combat portions of the game, but when a souped up supervillain takes center stage with their incredible new powers, you can expect the kind of fights and level theming that makes the repetitive enemy battles worth pushing through. When a level is mostly focused on the boss gimmick or the stealth you’re in for a much more interesting time, and while the close range fistfights with supervillains are still shallow, there is at least enough to the more unique parts of the game to balance this out into a decent package.
gameplay (Denmark) (Nov, 2010)
