Online servers

The Windows version originally required a permanent internet connection even in single-player mode. In February 2013, this copy protection has been removed and the game only requires a one-time activation since then.

The game's online servers were shut down on 24 September 2016 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and on 11 November 2017. The Windows version has had widespread reports of inaccessible content since that date.
