Overall, Warriors Orochi 3 is one of the best examples of a modern Dynasty Warriors title, and something that all fans should definitely check out. It’s not going to do much to sway naysayers and those that don’t care for the repetitive button mashing of the series, as it doesn’t do much to change up the core gameplay, but if you’re at all vested in the series, you should think about picking this up.

Repetitiveness aside (seriously, you’ll have to buy a second controller when you wear out the square button on the first one), Warriors Orochi 3 is an outstanding entry into the hack-n-slash field and is a must-buy for fans of the genre. If you’re new to the gameplay but interested, this is a great starting point on your adventures of smashing up thousands of enemies.

While there's plenty of new stuff, it won't be enough to win the hearts of the series' many vocal detractors. However, fans should not hesitate to pick this entry up, and those looking for a ridiculous amount of mindless hacking action will find a treasure trove of violence in this massive offering. This is the ultimate Warriors game, no question about it.

It's a game that Warriors aficionados will get the most out of, then, but as well as offering amazing fan service, this also represents the ideal entry point for new players. If you only play a single Warriors game, with such an abundance of content, Warriors Orochi 3 has to be the one. And for those who've played the rest, be assured that you're about to experience the best - because this is a new peak for Omega Force and for the Warriors series.

Warriors Orochi 3 is currently a representation of the series at its peak. Updated graphics, reduced pop-in, unparalleled content, and a nearly-bursting character roster make for a completely revamped experience that the previous titles couldn’t offer. Ever since Dynasty Warriors 7, I’ve praised KOEI for the direction in which its taking the Warriors series of games, and this installment encourages me to continue to do so. While it suffers from its fair share of repetition, this is undoubtedly one of the most complete and absolute hack-and-slash experiences you’ll find on the market. Now if you don’t mind, I’m off to kill another 1100 or so enemy troops.

Warriors Orochi 3 is a spectacle. Pursue the Demons, pursue the Hydra, hell, go back in time and pursue Lu Bu. If you like DW or SW, you’re punishing yourself for not owning this one.

Warriors Orochi is certainly not a bad game; it's just a stale game. It's a gameplay formula that we have seen before on an engine that is incredibly outdated. Anyone who has sunk hours of their life into a Dynasty Warriors game in the past will have a ton of fun with this game, especially when they unlock characters like Ryu Hayabusa. However, if you've slowly been getting bored with the Dynasty Warriors line, this game won't do much to reinvigorate your interest. It's an interesting diversion, and one that I don't regret spending money on, but after all is said and done, it's just the same old thing.
