Pyst's humor ranges from the sublime (the ''I bought Netscape at 20!'' graffito in the Horror-Scopium) to the sophomoric (clicking on the bong and seeing a puff of smoke is fun, but I could have done without the dog piddling on a totaled car). It's not worth the price of Myst, but for a mere 15 bucks, a couple of million people might appreciate the joke.

It's just an all 'round funny parody of MYST. If parodies are your idea of fun, then PYST is worth a look. If nothing else, it's a very funny multimedia presentation, and I say presentation because it's really not a game. Like MYST, you'll find a little video of the "Making of PYST", which is often as funny as the rest of the CD.

Si une heure de détente vaut bien 70 francs à vos yeux, alors vous ne perdrez rien à vous offrir Pyst !

At most, you will get half an hour to an hour's worth of use from this product, and probably only true Firesign Theatre fans will find the game even mildly amusing. In addition, I found the game prone to lockups, crashes, and just plain wouldn't run on one system. MYLK (an older parody) was funnier, had a couple of puzzles, and is available for free. Bottom Line: True Firesign Theatre fans may crack a smile once or twice. No gameplay at all, and is over very quickly.

Pyst is a mildly amusing, short-lived parody with no gaming component. Sounds exciting? To diehard Myst fanatics, perhaps. The rest of us--even those who really enjoyed Myst--will probably find it disappointing. Despite Parroty's best intentions, this product seems like a missed opportunity to create a puckish, witty, and irreverent spoof of the game whose New-Ageish solemnity seems to cry out for some comic relief.

To conclude, if you loved "Myst", you might want to try "Pyst", but if you are like everybody else who knows a good game from a hole in the ground, give "Pyst" the pass.

If you like cheezy, dry, stupid, goofball comedy, PYST may suit you just fine, you moron. However, if you have limits to your madness, don't waste a dime on it!!! This is definitely the absolute worst game I've ever played. Someone on the planet will disagree. My suggestion is to find that person, buy a six pack of Hawaiian Punch and make a new friend...
