SEGA Master SystemSega Does (Dec 14, 2014)
While there’s nothing significantly special about Quartet, the game has enough of a soul to keep one interested throughout the game’s entirety. Its fast pace, catchy tunes, and bizarre ambiance kick off 1987 in style.
SEGA Master SystemTilt (Dec, 1987)
SEGA Master (Aug 25, 2016)
Overall, Master System owners would do well to grab a copy of Quartet. It doesn’t set the gaming world on fire, but it’s classic Sega that’s a lot of fun with a second player. Even the single-player mode is fun, Quartet on the Master System might be a bit watered down compared to the coin-op, but it’s a great way to spend some time with a friend. Grab a friend and go save Colony Nine!
ArcadeAll Game Guide (1998)
An unfairly neglected game at the time of its release, Quartet has colorful graphics, catchy music and busy screen activity with little slowdown.
Amstrad CPCComputer and Video Games (CVG) (Jun, 1990)
Imagine a coloured-in version of the Spectrum game. Equally dismal in all respects.
ZX SpectrumComputer and Video Games (CVG) (Jun, 1990)
Slow, dull gameplay and poor graphics. Hardly the jewel in Hit Squad's crown.
Commodore 64Happy Computer (Aug, 1987)
Commodore 64ASM (Aktueller Software Markt) (Sep, 1987)
ZX SpectrumComputer and Video Games (CVG) (Aug, 1987)
And the price! £10? No way Jose. These days I reckon Mastertronic would think twice about putting a game of this quality out at budget prices. To be fair, we haven't seen the 64 or Amstrad versions. If they are any better we'll let you know. Such a shame, after the excellent Enduro Racer we were expecting great things.
Commodore 64Commodore Force (Aug, 1993)
Deary, deary doggins! Not only does this monstrosity bare only a passing resemblance to the arcade version, but it's a complete turnip to boot. I'd rather smoke my socks.
Commodore 64Computer and Video Games (CVG) (Jun, 1990)
The worst of the bunch. Gameplay is as bad as the others, but the graphics are a total mess.
