Here you have the results of my foray into the semi-literate world of fishing-game forums; possibly you have already read these little nuggets of helpful advice. It seems just about everyone who plays this game has the same question. Hopefully someone else here has some better hints...

• "well, guess what? I know how. go to lake ocachobbe 2. use the countdown in minnow color. cast out near alot of grass, or rocks. dont real. just let sit for a while, and if you get board, just go do something else and check on it every once and a while. if you have patiance, and very good realing skills, catching a catfish should be a snap for you. your welcome."
• "When you try to catch a cat you need to use the countdown on the fire minnow color because cats are bottom feeders. to catch you usually need to let them go to get their selves tired and thats when you bring them in. When you are you need to keep the pole up so you don't get to much slack. When the pressure gets to tight let lose and let the pole go back to normal."
• "Catfish are freshwater,found in warm waters of eastern and southern United States.Ex:Southeast Texas.and yes you do have to unlock it!"
• "think u gotta beat the game on hard setting to unlock the catfish and the secret fish too."
