Real Rugby J2ME Title screen

Real Rugby is a rugby game similar to the same company's Real Football series. Like those games it is played using an isometric perspective and has similar graphics. When having the ball running is automatic and the player simply steers left and right. It's possible to sprint but only until stamina runs out. Passing and diving over the line is done with a single button which when held or pressed down at the right moment is also used for mauls and line-outs. Conversion kicks are done from a first person perspective and uses a power meter to set the strength of the kick.

The game contains four game modes: friendlies, tournaments, leagues, training and mini-game. There are four tournaments (International Cup, Euro 6, South Cup and Euro Clubs Cup) and six leagues (World, Euro, South, French, English and Isles). The mini-game consists of a sequence of kicks where the player earns points for each score. It ends when a kick is missed.
