Scene It?: Glee is one of a series of games in the Scene It? series. This version of the game features questions based on Glee an American television series that was broadcast between May 2009 and March 2015.
The game can be played on a board or in 'party play' mode and also has bonus activities.
This is a boxed game which is played on the standard Scene It? 'flex-time' game board so-called because of its novel feature, when there's not enough time/interest to play a full game it can be folded, thus reducing it's size so that a short game can be played. The player(s) must travel round the board to the 'Final Cut' area where they must answer three DVD challenge questions to win. There is also a 'Preset Game Mode' that minimises the chance of a question being repeated.
The game is played with two dice, a six sided die that determines how far the player moves and an eight sided die which determines the challenge the player will face. After the player has rolled both dice and moved their token they may have to complete a challenge, if successful they take another turn and continue to do so until they make an error. The challenge squares the player will face in their travels are determined by the eight sided die, they are;
'My Play': this is a DVD challenge in which a scene is viewed and two relevant questions are asked. The first question is for the current player only, the second question is an All Play question which is described below. If the current player gets either question right they take another turn.
'All Play': This is also a DVD challenge, it is the same as the 'My Play' square but any player can answer. If the current player answers correctly they take another turn, if any other player answers correctly they move two spaces around the board, the current player's turn ends and the next player takes their turn.
'My Puzzle': the DVD controller is used to select a question which the player must answer within the allotted time, (the DVD has a timer function which is set at the start of the game).
'Trivia Challenge': Here another player draws a trivia Challenge card and reads the question. There are three categories of trivia question 'Beyond Glee', 'Music', and 'Gleek' and there is one question from each category on one side with the answers on the reverse. If the player answers a question from the hardest category, Gleek, correctly then they move an additional two spaces.
'Players Choice': here the player selects a trivia card or DVD category of their choice.
Bonus Content: There are three bonus content games, none of them use the game board, all of them use the DVD;
Sing It: here a short clip is played and the player must sing the next few lines after the music stops
Act It: This is based on the parlour game Charades and requires the player to act out a song title for the rest of the group. The rules say the player can use conventional hand signals or "act out the choreography from memory."!! Here the group must look away from the television while the nominated player reads the song title they must mime.
Say It: Here the player must give clues allowing the other players to identify a Glee character without mentioning the actor/actress, a character or any songs they appeared in. Again the group must look away from the television while the nominated player reads the character they must represent.
Party Play: Described as 'perfect for a Glee party' this mode presents a series of questions for a large group to play, shouting out the answers as the board is not used in this mode
