Two overlooked retro gems on one module
The Good
Astro Warrior is a vertical shooter that is very reminiscent of Terra Cresta. Like many of the good old games, this one gets progressively more difficult from level to level. Woe to him whose ship is destroyed and thus loses all its extras.
Pit Pot is a very original game. Here we wander from screen to screen. Fight off the monsters and look for a few utensils to then successfully wake up the princess.
Both games have clean game mechanics. The controls are direct and responsive.
The Bad
The copyright notice in the game says 1985, meaning it's a very early SEGA game from the early days of the Mark III. So don't expect too much in terms of sound and graphics.
The FM beeps, i.e. the sound accompaniment, can sometimes lead to the volume being reduced a bit with Astro Warrior.
The Bottom Line
Both games are motivating and incredibly fun. If you want to get involved with these classic game mechanics. I therefore give it a clear buy recommendation and 4 out of 5 stars.
