Game Freaks 365 (Jun 14, 2005)
This is without a doubt the best Rampage conversion I have ever played. I don't remember too much about the original, but this game seems to capture everything almost exactly. It's yet another reason to give the Master System another look and if you've had the unfortunate opportunity to actually see the NES version the entire way through, this is just the remedy you need. It's not a perfect game, but it's definitely good.
Gameplay is addictive, and laying waste to entire cities is great fun, especially when there are two monsters on the rampage!
1UP! (Apr 13, 2002)

The humorous cartoon-like characters of George, Lizzie and Ralph are undoubtedly the best element in Rampage, but they can't make up for the lack of variety in the rest of the graphics. 25 is too high a price to pay for a game with such limited interest, even with the amusement of two-players.
Here is another arcade conversion that made it onto computer before the consoles, and did well for itself. Best as a two player game but gets repetitive in the extreme.

The Video Game Critic (Aug 21, 2006)
Despite the lousy controls, Rampage is awfully easy, and the games seem to last forever. Since all the stages look and play pretty much the same, the game probably won't hold your interest. I will give Rampage credit for its graphics. This looks like something straight out of the arcade! There are a lot of funny animations and you can even make out the tiny people. A catchy tune loops in the background, but like the game itself, it wears thin. In my opinion Rampage is a brilliantly conceived but poorly executed title.
