Vampire Savior doesn't just look beautiful but is also brilliantly balanced and worked out. There are so many moves and combo possibilities that you could easily be playing this forever. The only thing I'm not too keen on is the i>Killer Instinct-style round system (when you run out of energy you fall over, then get up and carry on with your second bar) but otherwise this is spot-on. This is yet another awesome Capcom Saturn import game.
What can I say? I've always loved the Vampire/Darkstalkers series. I bought a Saturn to play Nightwarriors when it first came out, and have played it right up to the release of Vampire Savior. This is one of the best 2D fighters EVER in my opinion, and is one Saturn fighting game that is not to be missed! Capcom once again delivers utter arcade-perfection. Prepare to face the dark forces that await you in Vampire Savior!
High Voltage Online (Oct 01, 2006)
In the end, the translation from the arcade is disgustingly accurate (loading time is, no exaggeration, non-existant… never more than 2 secs. between matches) and the additions made for the console version make this one of the best buys in ages. Hell, there’s even a Language option so us ignorant Americans can play it in English! (Though it’s a secret) Capcom…. you get a cookie. It’s just a shame Sega’s too ignorant to bring over quality products like this. *sigh* The only things I can say bad about this game are the lack of modes (Where’s my Training + Survival??), the silly chaining, and the absence of Marionette (a secret character from Vampire Savior 2 who plays somewhat like Shadow).

Retro Spirit Games (Nov 02, 2013)
Not only is it hugely entertaining and gloriously silly, but it also ranks as one of the best 2D fighters of all time. An absolutely cracking version exists for the Sega Saturn (Japan only), which comes with additional characters (the Arcade CPS 2 system couldn't handle the entire roster of fighters that Capcom wanted) and makes great use of a 4Meg expansion cartridge.

Vampire Savior is the third game in Capcom's Darkstalkers series, which up until this point has essentially been "Street Fighter with monsters." At its core, Vampire Savior is still just that, but it has a few twists that manage to make it feel quite a bit different.
