Joypad (Oct, 1996)
Electric Playground (Nov 11, 1998)
The game is slapstick comedic throughout. What kid can't appreciate being kissed into submission by a big ugly female Orc? How about jumping on the bed to bash the bad guy standing on the roof? Getting duct taped up or trash compacted into a cube? One of the bosses throws angry dogs at you! The animations are funny and the cartoon that begins the game is fantastic. 2 and 3-player action are great and there is even an easy setting, which skips the more difficult levels. Every parent would run right out and buy this game for their seven year old if it were not for one thing: The ESRB rating is Teen.
Three Dirty Dwarves features some of the most hilarious animated cinematics since Chuck Rock II for the Sega CD. There has been a little buzz about the game, especially since the company behind it is SegaSoft - people's curiosity has been aroused. The game's controls are great. I had a lot of fun see what each dwarf was capable of. Some of their special moves are excellent-looking. The enemies and bosses in the game are funny as all heck - they look like they're straight out of Liquid TV (if it was still around). At first, it seemed hard, but as you played it, it kind of became too easy. This could be a problem for long-term play.

Mean Machines (Nov, 1996)
3DD shoots itself in the foot early on, with grinding gameplay and limited scope for player expression.
Defunct Games (Nov 20, 2005)
While the animation is smooth, and the three very different attacks between the three characters are employed well, the overall package is nothing spectacular. You'll have to look elsewhere to get your three-player fix on. I don't know where, but elsewhere.
Game Revolution (Jun 06, 2004)
Now to the big question: Should I buy this game? If you're into great sound and visual effects -- you should save your money. If there are two people playing or if you just love side scrollers -- this could be a fun game if you don't mind a little abuse. Unfortunately, at its core, Three Dirty Dwarves has nothing truly new. It is a challenging game, but I would save my money for a one with a little more technological edge.

This game is what I like to call an “If only…” If only a better development house had had these artists to make a game with. If only they had improved the play mechanics and put in checkpoints. If only Appaloosa (I hope you’re rotting in hell, you shitty company) hadn’t made every one of their games a one-upper of awfulness over the game before it. If only… Three Dirty Dwarves, if only.
The Video Game Critic (Mar 14, 2013)
Three Dirty Dwarves has a few innovative ideas but its gameplay is more chaotic than fun.
