Shadowverse

Shadowverse is a fantasy themed collectible card game. The game features both a single-player story mode and multiplayer mode. A mysterious object called "The morning star" has appeared in the sky. And with it evil creatures has started to appear. Depending on which leader the player chooses to play different versions of the story is told. The player don't need to complete one story line to begin the next. Each card has a cost and at the beginning of a match the player can only use cards with a low cost. The further the game progresses the more play points will be available, the maximum is 10 play points each turn. When the game starts the player may choose to redraw cards once, this is useful if the player have no cards with low cost. The player that goes second draws two cards on the first turn. Each player may have five cards in play at any given time. There are three types of cards:

• Followers: These cards have attack and defence values and can be used to attack the enemy.
• Amulets: These cards can't be used to attack but grant other cards bonuses.
• Spells: These cards activate their ability as soon as they are played.

The follower-cards can evolve to become more powerful, the number of cards that can be evolved each match is limited. Some cards have special abilities that can be used under certain circumstances. The game is played out by placing cards on the table using followers to attack the opponents followers or the opponent directly. The first one to kill the other player wins the match. In story mode the player can choose between seven leaders to play, all have a special ability:

• Arisa: Forestcraft, the player gets plenty of cards that summons low-cost fairy followers.
• Erika: Swordcraft, the player gets cards that summon other followers which are officers.
• Isabelle: Runecraft, each spell cast makes the players hand more powerful.
• Rowen: Dragoncraft, the player gets extra play points in the beginning of the match.
• Luna: Shadowcraft, can use shadows to activate necromancy effects.
• Urias: Bloodcraft, the leaders defence is low but vengeance can be used to strengthen other cards.
• Eris: Havencraft, uses countdown amulets which can summon powerful followers once they reaches 0 and are destroyed.

In the decks screen the player can build custom decks. A complete deck holds 40 cards.
